Last year I drew a name that was an infrequent poster and had a hard time finding an approporite gift. So to help out Santa, post a bit here, or in your about me in your profile so that Santa can give something good. If you think its cheating then enjoy your suprise. Last years thread is here;

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82829

So enjoy.

For me I enjoy machinest things, old tractors, and neat old techonology. Still working on decorating the shop so wall hangings or ?. Here's hoping all enjoy the holidays.

I like automotive, oil&gas, or tool related garage decorations or art. I also like jeep stuff. I like shopping at best buy and eating at olive garden.

Also sk and snap on but there isn't much I need in tools. Mostly more oddball pliers and stuff

I own mostly HF tools and some snap-ons. I have a nice cozy work shop :) (bench+42" cab)

I'm a DIY'er and I'm into jewelry making/soldering/brazing non ferocious metals.

I'm getting a Dremel from Santa so attachments (engraving, burring, etching, polishing, grinding - in no particular order) would be nice, also getting a leather man wave. :lol_hitti

I need a 20mm comb wrench.:bounce:

Just saying! :lol_hitti

Ferocious metals? Which ones are the savagely violent metals? :lol_hitti

Aluminum, definitely aluminum. Sometimes my girlfriend finds me backing up pallets of aluminum cans into the drive way all hours of the night and sledge hammering them into his and her rings.

Well the 100 post requirement helps with that. Hopefully in 6 months or a 100 posts the person has at least given away some info lol.

But I like all hand tools. SK or Grey P are usually my thing, but it's usually because it the highest quality I can afford regularly lol, but they're great. I have a couple SO ratchets that are great. But I like tools in general...pliers, screwdrivers, sockets, whatever lol. I might be a ratchet ***** lol. I don't have many screwdrivers, or ratcheting ones too. There's a lot I don't have and I don't want to make a super long list lol

I hope my person has uploaded pictures of their toolbox drawers so that I know what to get for them. Would hate to get them something they already have. I also hope I dont have a master mechanic with all the tools anybody could ever dream of either! :)

For myself.. hmm thats a tough one. I have all craftsman stuff, no truck brand stuff yet, besides the set of FD+ wrenches I just got today!

I'll be happy with whatever I am gifted. I have mainly craftsman tools, I just got my craftsman premium ratchet and really like it. I keep hearing so much about the Snap On Dual 80 that I really want one now.

I tend to buy tools as I need them. Sockets, wrenches, etc. I'm saving up for a HF 42" bottom and top. I don't have air tools or a compressor. I could use a fender cover.I have had my eyes on one of the heavy duty covers by Snap-On (JCK7D)

But again, anything is awesome!

Wera screwdriver or bits. NWS cutters. 1/4" drive SAE shallow sockets. 3/8" extensions. Anything Cat or Peterbuilt. Kershaw and Spyderco pocket knives. "Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse," book. "One Second After," book.
These are just a few things I like, or need to buy. Anything will be great though and much appreciated.

I like to hunt, bbq, build things and do electrical work. I'm a Padres fan and I like Standard Oil and Chevron memorabilia. Oh, and Kennedy tool boxes! Hah!

This is going to be fun!

Oh boy... wish list!

If you don't get any ideas otherwise, there's this...

I would LOVE to have the following two SK Palm Control ratchets:
SK 3886 3/8" ratchet (straight handle)
SK 3896 1/2" ratchet

I'd also like some Pratt-Read screwdrivers ("classic" series)

Hansen socket trays are great, any of the regular ones (I already have the bit socket tray).

3 3/8" circular saw blades (15mm arbor)

I'm with this guy... lol. I recently discovered that I dont have a hammer for actual nails.. haha. I had to use a ball-peen on a work-bench modification...

BUT, I love any and all tools, wall-art, I need a clock in my garage... anything for the garage, and I'll be happy.

I don't have many posts so I figured I might need to throw a bone to whoever ends up with my name. I'm an industrial mechanic for a living.

I like all types of hand tools and tend to lean towards ratchets when browsing for tools. Prefer US made items although all of my tools get used regardless of where they are made.

Don't really have a favorite brand but some that I use now and like:

Proto/Blackhawk
Wera/Wiha (I only have their torx, no full sets):bounce:

I'm a car collector, and love vintage garage stuff, like wall signs, etc. For tools, my favorite brand is Mac, and I really like older little red Mac tool trays, boxes, signs, memorabilia marked "Mac". But in truth, this is my first year to participate, and I LOVE old garage stuff and automobilia and US or Euro-made tools. Anything will be much appreciated.

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy New Year, Kwanzaa, and best wishes for ALL holidays to all Garage Journal members. I'm proud to be among you.

I have an Armstrong Eliminator 3/8 metric socket set, and i am trying to piece together some SAE sockets to go with it. I already have two SAE Eliminator sockets, sizes 3/8 (11-612) and 1/2 (11-616) and an odd socket to help fill in the gaps would be great.

I was always intrigued by Mac Microturn wrenches, so one of those might be nice to own.

A Cornwell catalogue would be good.

Best of luck to whomever gets my name.

Obviously, I am into International Scouts. Also Oldsmobiles.

As far as tools.......some 6 point metric 3/8 or 1/2 drive sockets would be nice. Any good brand would be fine. New or used will do.

Or, European or Japanese tools. Again, new or used.

International tools would be welcome, but I understand how hard they are to find.

Double box end wrenches. I love 'em.

Good luck to everyone on the GJ who is shopping for someone. xmas

I do quite a bit of metalworking. Stock is always a good thing, brass, aluminum, tool steel drops etc to make more tools a jigs for the shop. I've also been hunting for a decent set of test leads for a fluke dmm. I also do some gun related stuff, AR's mostly.

**Edit - An quality impact driver (the kind you hit with a hammer) would be great. My over the top tool, a 6" set of Milbar safety wire pliers with auto retracting spinner.

I could really use a new drop light reel for the garage, wrench or socket racks, 1/2" drive deep metric sockets or impact would be great also! I'm not really a brand ***** but snap on is really nice. And now that I think about it a nice ratcheting screwdriver would be helpful as well.
Really anything would be appreciated.
Happy holidays to everyone

I am happy being thought of. I have been looking at the Wera KK 60 Stainless Driver and Bit Set - Imperial. I use the 1/4 shank bits as they fit everything I have and make it easier for me. I have some M12, the right angle drill and regular M12 drill. Next would be the M12 Impact driver, that will take all the bits. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I'm doing pretty good on tools at the moment though Iam still looking to complete my kd flare wrench set.
Also once fired brass& jacketed bullets to help feed my 357 marlin 1894c & ruger security six would also be welcome.
hex bit sockets would be nice,I don't need nothing fancy, I've got the napa set(taiwan), but they are ball ends, and they seem to strip out the socket heads pretty easily. also could use some roll pin punches for working on firearms.

My interests vary from tools to guns, knives, motorcycles, bbq, and baseball. I like quality and used in good shape is new to me. Brands I like are SO, Mac, Knipex, Wera, Geodore, Craftsman, BMW, Leatherman, Ruger. I like SO black hard handles. I want to try NWS pliers some time. I like cool bottle openers, especially vintage or tool related.

Items specifically on my wish list:

Chanellock 909 crimping pliers,
Knipex plier wrench (8 or 12")
Black SO mini screwdriver set
Black SO ratcheting screwdriver
3/8 Impact sockets (HF is fine)
Butterfly impact
12V Impact

Thanks in advance to my Secret Santa, don't take my list too seriously, I'll appreciate whatever you come up with!

I am love pretty much any tool USA made, I also like older unique tools as well. I work primarily with 12v electronics installing emergency lights on police cars, ambulances, fire trucks etc. But I also have an around the house tool bag that could use some attention. My tools now are mainly gearwrench, SO, channellocks, and wera.

I love anything police related, Ferrari related, and don't own any Cornwell tools. Love pocket knives and beef jerkey, and can koozies, and unique bottle openers.

Can't wait to start shopping for my Secret Santa. Was more excited last year for my SS gift than from the gift my wife got me ;)
