After looking through many of my SS posts, I have an idea what he likes but nothing that will even remotely fit into SS price range! Looks like I'll have to get creative.

As for myself. I'm just a weekend warrior nowadays but I'm quite the SO fanatic. I collect SO hard handle anything but probably have the most ratcheting screwdrivers and ratchets.

LOVE green SO!

But in general I would be happy with whatever my SS comes up with. Each year I've had a great time with SS and I find it just as fun picking out the gift, as I do opening mine!

3.European tools

Yeah, those JH Williams stubby wrenches are cool! (and I know I would use them). Now who do I drop that hint too... :)

Updated my signature and profile with my interests (which are many). Hope my SS does the same, so far he is hard to shop for.

I hope I've posted enough to help out my secret santa, but just in case I'll post here too. I'm happy with just about anything.

I'm a weekend warrior / the fixit guy for the family. I do everything from wiring phones to fixing stuff on cars. I also have a jewelry/metal working hobby. Other hobbies include wet shaving, backpacking, woodworking, and bicycling.

I'm not really loyal to any one brand, industrial brands and used or vintage is very cool. Fabricated stuff is very cool too. I'm really not picky and am not anywhere close to the guy that has everything!

I've been eyeing some wrench rolls.

Layout tools are always cool.

I could use things like a set of picks, prybars, or some good pliers.

I don't have a breaker bar for 1/4" drive, and I own no flex head ratchets in any size.

My 1/2" drive setup includes 1 ratchet, 1 torque wrench, lugnut sized impact socket, and a breaker bar.

I'm slowly trying to complete a few SO wrench sets and needs include:
Snap-On 10mm regular length
Snap-On 11/16" regular length
Snap-On 15/16" regular length
Snap-On 1" regular length
Snap-On 16/18mm flare
Snap-On 19/21mm flare
Snap-On 7/8 1-1/8 flare

Well, I hope this helped if you're stuck. If my secret santa gets me something else, no problems there either. What a fun exchange!

Bump in hopes of my guy posting here!

I'm stumped on what to get him, I can tell he would appreciate ANYTHING, but doesn't have a full set of tools (he's a student) so I wish I could know exactly what he doesn't have that every mechanic should!

Ooooooooooo. Kinda hoping spencerian didn't get me! LMAO. No real clues for my guy but I'll wing it and see how it works out! (But if it is spencerian - I prefer spaghetti! Have fun with that!) :)

In all honesty, I have to kind of wing it too haha. I kinda know what my SS wants, but it's nowhere near my meager budget. But I think it'll still be good :)
I wouldn't want to give a crappy gift lol

My recipient has posted here as well, so i already ordered his present...now if it gets here in a timely manner to be able to get it to him. As far as what i would like..i dont really know. I like the suprise though, i posted my box's contents in the tool box thread not to long ago, so if you see something i dont have, that i should have..i guess that would work haha.

Well, I might as well post here to help out my SS.

To start off, I am NOT picky.. I LOVE tools of all sorts. Old, new, anything.
Things I am into are- Cars, anything hunting/outdoors, knives, Willys Trucks/Wagons, Tools(obviously)... etc, etc, etc. I am going to graduate form my community college with an AAS degree in mechanics this may, and I am going to start working in a garage come January. I kind of have a thing for MAC tools, but in no way am I a purist. In fact, I don't have alot of MAC.
Some tools I don't have or could use are- Stubby ratchet, flex head 1/4 & 1/2 ratchets, Pry bars, triple square style sockets (like allen key sockets) etc... I could also use some sort of orginization for my pliars and screwdrivers, or a wrench roll. AGAIN- NOT PICKY!

Anything I get will be awesome! I just think this is a really cool thing that got started. I like giving tools to people, and this just gives me an excuse.

My recipient hasn't posted in this thread but I think he will be happy with what is headed his way.
I would be happy with anything, tool related or not.
As far as tools, I already have all I need in screwdrivers, sockets, ratchets, pliers, etc but more is always welcome. Mainly lacking in 'specialty tools' I was looking at picking up hose clamp pliers the type with a cable to get at those in restricted areas. Other than that anything would be appreciated.

I have an Armstrong Eliminator 3/8 metric socket set, and i am trying to piece together some SAE sockets to go with it. I already have two SAE Eliminator sockets, sizes 3/8 (11-612) and 1/2 (11-616) and an odd socket to help fill in the gaps would be great.

I was always intrigued by Mac Microturn wrenches, so one of those might be nice to own.

A Cornwell catalogue would be good.

The things on my 'want list' are a tad obscure, and therefore my secret santa maybe struggling to find any. I really like the Ernst socket rails, and i could really use some 1/2 Dura Pro socket clips to hold my heavy sockets. Hope this helps.
