This thing was too far away and more than I usually pay for old boxes, but it sat on CL for a good while. Come labor day, I asked if the wife wanted to go to the Long Island south shore (we've never been, despite being relatively close) just for a nice drive... "oh, and maybe we can stop on the way to check out a toolbox." :D

It was a lovely drive, made even better by my new purchase in the trunk. I think it cost about the same as dinner: $50.

Box with key:

Doors in storage position (ignore my stuff inside):

Each board slides out on a track system and then pivots:

Found the original welcome and instructions behind the drawer:

On the back side is a packing list:

And here is what was in it(!):

Amazingly, according to the packing list, I'm only missing a few pieces of the original set, though I also have a couple extra socket holders and a whole stack of L hangers (with mounting hardware) that weren't shipped with the Huot.

This thing is amazingly cool. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it yet, but I'm happy with the purchase. The only other one I've seen was HERE.

Below are scans of the packing list and letter for sonnyboy or anyone else interested.

That box is really unusual. Good on ya.
I don't think people know what good quality Huot was, the reason it was on CL for so long. I had a Hout 6 drawer top box with the lift front on CL for a few months before it sold, and the guy collected Huot boxes.

Thanks for the PM sending me here posaune! I downloaded the scans you posted, and I will check what I am missing tomorrow. I've got mine hanging in in my garage, but haven't really found a practical use for it yet, but I'm sure I will.

That's awesome. I'd LOVE something like that to put all my layout tools in... circle templates, squares, etc. etc.
