I have a Direct Lift pro. With sides etc. try to find pics later.

Realy like how little floor space yours takes... How is it with big bikes that aren't flat bottomed? How does it lift a sport bike?

STOP. Please put something, anything on the concrete floor to protect it. There are amazing coatings available on this board that could go a long way toward sealing that weird pour job. It would look cool and funky due to the uneven surface.

Very nice lift.

The floor was bull floated, it's being tiled in spring.
That base plate is for Harley's, that's all I work on so it's good for me. For sport bikes etc, you would have to get a different table style for it.

No table lift for me until we get into a new house and I can recess it in the garage floor. Until then I'm using a J&S Jack.

It has been used for countless bike jobs and has never had an issue. I guess I might should change the fluid on it one day!

Its offical - I hate every single one of you! :)

Now lets see some of those DIY jobs too...I'm sure there are some poor broke bastards out there (like me) that have done some creative lifts while saving for things like oil seals and transmission bearings...and push rod tubes...and...ect..ect...

I love my lift. Great for working on the bike, a second workbench, an extension to my welding table for big work, loading a bike into the truck, getting a bike onto my stationary table, and just about anything else you could think of.

Here it is embedded in the floor of my old garage.

Here it is helping to lift a beam into place

And here it is just being used as a motorcycle lift

Is that in your basement, JVB??? It doesn't look like garage..

That is my old house. It had a deep 1 car garage.

My current garage, and use of my lift recently.

I have two motorcycle lifts with the snowmobile/ATV attachment sides for them.

My long-term or project lift is a Handy.
2eyjnvb.jpg

My other one is a Cycle Pro. It has the side adapters as well but, sometimes I have them on sometimes not.

Side plates installed.
1903zs.jpg

No sideplates.
2m6jptx.jpg

My son refers to our Cycle Pro lift as the "express lane". This is because we generally try not to occupy it for long periods of time like our "project" lift.

The Handy is about fifteen years old and the Cylce Pro about ten or eleven. No problems with either but I like the Handy better.

I finally fiqured out where the air line hooks up! Thats pretty cool, seems like it keeps the air line from being a trip hazard and keeps it up off the floor so you don't bump it.

Mine is a Titan, 1500 lb. It also has side extensions and an extension for the front if you have a really long bike. I've had my dragbike's on it and they fit. Barely, but they fit. Also had my dad's 1800 Goldwing Trike on it. With the side extension's.

I also have a wooden "operating" table that I use for long term stuff.

I thought many times about sinking mine into the floor, I think it would be absolutely awesome, but it would drop the available height too much.

Slacker,

I looked up Bestway and found their lifts, but they have no pricing online.
Can you give me a ballpark idea what that in-ground unit costs?

Those are the same kind we had back in the late 1970's in a shop I worked in.

The Carlson Company is who I bought mine from. http://www.thecarlsoncompany.com/
I had the extra 12" added to it around $250. With shipping to Maine, extra foot it was around $1800. I will look at my invoice tomarrow.

Here is my Bishamon LX200 twin hydraulic cylinder lift I got from work...for FREE. They were actually going to scrap it...and it was brand new...

It has a table of 45.5" x 81" and a lift capacity of 4400 pounds. The self contained hydraulics are powered by a dual voltage 2 HP motor which I currently have wired for 240V...

For me, it wasn't a huge loss, as I usually don't work with the bike all the way up anyway, but a taller person may get annoyed. Another downside is you can't roll it around to use for other things. Great at saving space though.

I use a harbor freight type jack for the bikes. The Magna's exhaust pipes are below the frame so i made a jig to hold it.

I'm curious about most except the OP are using a table type lift. I find that most of the jobs I tackle require that the wheels come off; along with lots of other stuff as you can see.

BTW: NitroShark -- Nice Magna. Are you on the V4 board? (http://www.v4hondabbs.com/)

Awesome thread. Nice bikes guys, I'm lovin the supermoto bikes!

Jim, how did you get away with only paying 249.00 for the HF lift? I though they were 300.00, with a coupon. I hope to have one in a few months.

5 years ago. Plus, it is the air over hydraulic lift they no longer offer!
