I needed some pliers racks and was considering making my own from dish racks, but for the 30" length, these seemed a better deal.

Plyworx PLR30 is also sold on the Snap-on trucks but don't know their part number off the top of my head. $19.99 at Northern Tools. These have the wider spaced ones for insulated grip pliers at one of the rack. That's nice. For the price, you could just snip a dividier and make a double-wide with the cheaper Grip Tools model, too.

At SkyGeek.com, Add the items to your cart and either close the browser and come back or just leave it open for a bit and a pop-up will offer 5% off if you check out within a certain time period. I did that and it took off the amount correctly, there is no code to enter that I've found.

The Grip Tools 57000 part number is very similar but does not have the wider spaced ones at one end. If you're okay with that, get them for $6.99 at MCM Electronics. 15% off coupon is "AFC909".

Each rack is 30" long, but you can clip them into sections with bolt cutters or a band saw rather easily for smaller drawers. You will need deep tool drawers.

Shipping at each is over $10, so go for 3+ with some buddies and shipping costs really become averaged quite well per item. I have no affiliation with either. Just needed some good quality pliers racks and searched around for good prices. Figured I'd let y'all know.

Does this fit in the shallow drawers of a HF 44" box?

I just put one in mine and it fit almost all of my pliers in the shallow drawer. My oil filter pliers wouldn't fit as the end was too tall to store upright. I have quite the variety of manufacture's pliers too, so most should fit okay.

based on that photo (just eyeballing) I think mine will fit like yours, all but a few. I was concerned some of my channellocks and longer handled pliers might not but it looks like its a go. Thanks buddy.

for the grip tools one, from the link in the original post
Height: 3 in

For the plyworx description on amazon
Fits in a drawer only 2 1/2 deep; can be cut to fit any width drawer

My concern was the handles more than the rack itself.

Anyway I'm going to give out the grip tools, 2 racks & shipping cost less than Northern wants one + tax.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I've actually stopped myself on several occasions from picking up one or more of these racks. I think the consensus is that these won't hold comfort grip pliers that well, unless they're being placed in the few select end spaces...and fortunately/unfortunately, however you decide to look at it, 95% of my pliers have comfort grip handles, thus rendering these racks almost useless to me. :(

You're correct. Basically I'm going to pay 20 bucks or so to find out if I can make it work without wasting space in my box. A lot easier than bringing all my pliers to Northern but I bet I could get away with doing that. A lot of hassle for a 'free preview' and even then I could only compare it to how the Homak boxes are.

I have been on the fence ever since I first saw them. I don't like that half of what I paid was for shipping but I figure with 2, I can cut or otherwise mod better than i could with the display in the store.

Good deal Op. I want to buy a pair of the Plywork from Skygeek but I can't get the 5% popup. Any tips? Did you just hit add to cart and then wait? I tried opening & closing also, that didn't work.

Quick heads up on Skygeek -- for one rack shipped to me in Texas, the shipping was almost 18 bucks with no cheaper options. Deal killer for me.

Just wanted to give a followup, I wound up buying that Grip Tools version and cutting 3/4 off the 'legs' and they fit in the HF drawers. Knipex mini bolt cutters are perfect for this.

The only things that wouldn't fit on it are the ones that were too thick to fit in the drawer standing up anyway.

Just a reminder to those that have a Northern Tools local to them, you can use the $5 off $15 coupon code and pick it up in the store. Nets out to $14.99 per rack plus tax.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread. I was looking to buy some fo the Grip Tools 57000 pliers racks, but am unable to find how wide they are. If you have one, could you please measure the width? I have purchased the Plyworx in the past, but I need one with all narrow openings.

Thanks

For the folks that bought these 2 different racks, are there any limitations to handle width differences in the two? I guess I am asking about the slot width differences.

some. I have plenty of Knipex now thanks to Lowe's, they all fit. the 2000 series Klien fit. I'm sure I could find something too fat to fit but the biggest ones I have are snug but fit.

I bought the one from MCM.

You can bend the plyworx racks to fit different size handles or angle them to fit in shorter drawers.

I went onto Mcm's site and put 3 of these in my basket, but then i didn't buy them. I later just called and ordered them over the phone. Tonight I got a discount code to get another 10 0/0 off. Rich
Update: They don't get into a hurry to ship these, I received my order yesterday 1-30, Just a little over a week, For the shipping fee you would think they would of shipped priority mail. I was a little upset when I received these, being I have the plyworx in some of my tool boxes already and wanted more for a different box. But I went back reread the op and realized that I had made the mistake not the company.
The grip is a cheap china knock off. Pay the little bit extra and get the real ones...Rich
