So to buy an extra battery will cost me $11 less than an entire second set. This is why I have too much ****.

I played around with the batteries with 6 LEDS built into the bottom the other day....they're pretty cool IMO. $35 retail. On Saturday it was $31.49 online but that appears to be gone now.

in for one, even though I got it at 49.99 before. That'll be going back :)

My guess is I was in the price match window, but didn't want to bother with it...

I am a little skeptic at the fact they are only 12v. I just cant think of any good use for them....

Are these things any good? Was thinking about getting the Milwaukee 12v drill and driver to replace my old Makita 14v NiCad battery tools at home, but this Craftsman deal is obviously pretty good...

Or, will I just be frustrated in 6 months with a piece of junk, wishing I bought Milwaukee, or Mikita? Kind of seems like you can't go too wrong for $39.99 delivered, especially for home use. Anyone use these things/have them for a while?

Thx

Just ordered a set. I'm replacing a twin battery 12V Ryobi set which requires a 3 hour charge to get enough juice to drill a couple of holes ... which is hugely frustrating.

I haven't used or seen the craftsman set, but I figured if it's normally $109, then it can't be that bad ... however it sounds like they're normally $50 ... so this may actually be disappointing. We'll have to see. The reviews are very good on Sears ... apart from a couple where the drill seems to be faulty out of the box.

Am I right that I can take it back to Sears for a refund after a month if it's actually useless? Even if I open and use it first?

This seems like a good back up set for me. I can keep these in the basement for woodworking and keep my nice Dewalt 20v max's in the Garage for heavier use

The kicker is it only comes with 1 battery. That's a little bit of a bummer.

That's the DIY part of it, and how they keep cost low.

I used the right angle impact driver in this line yesterday. I was actually driving self-drilling sheetmetal screws, #10x3/4. It worked fine. Not as much juice as my Milwaukee M12 impact driver which I switched to for the holes that didn't truly need the right angle driver for clearance, but my M12 had an XC battery on it so it's not a fair comparison.

Most of the Nextec line is decent from what I've seen, and I think it's exactly where Sears intended it to be: real good tools for the weekend warrior father type. If you were going to use it on a jobsite you'd be disappointed. I think it's kind of in line with Ryobi: good performance, good value.

If anyone invests in this platform for the first time, get the fluorescent light. It's quickly become my favorite light in the shop. Was doing trailer wheel bearings last nite and with the magnets I just stuck it up in the underside of the fender; illuminated the spindles perfectly.

the impact driver has the same specs as my Milwaukee which handles all of my drilling and screwing needs. I am not driving lag bolts with it but for standard size screws it does everything I need and then some.

Damn. Id pick one up, but I'm freaking broke. I hope this lasts as long as the right angle impact.

LOL, it's supposed to be the "deal of the day" but so was the RAID and that went on for weeks.

edit: I ordered two of these kits this morning and got a shipping confirmation. Not hoarding, the other kit will be a good gift for either my BIL or FIL

Wow, my first "you ****"! Although it came from KinzeMechs bank account, so I'm not so sure it counts.

It's saying in stock for shipping as of now. (But it's Sears website, so who knows). There is no telling just how long this deal will last, again, it's Sears.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm not authorized to bestow suckage. That check's gonna bounce.

Awesome find though. Great timing for me, my sister just last night asked if a HF drill was good enough for "little odd things", and I gave her one of my spare cordless drills to borrow while I waited for a deal like this.

Funny you should mention your sister. When I found this deal I bought one for my sister. She had told me she wanted a smaller drill and I thought this will fit the bill. I also bought her the right angle rattle drill when it was on sale and she will get all the stuff soon on her birthday.

Has anyone else watched their order stay stuck at 'processing' all day? I'm getting an 'out of stock' feeling.

I went outside to complete a few chores and thought I would place my order tonight once my daughter went to bed. "temporarily unavailable" now. I knew I shouldn't have waited.

Yep the Sears website is a lot like Amazon. If you get an item in your cart at a price you like and it's allegedly in stock, do not wait. And don't expect it to apply promo codes consistently either, so if it does order then.

I have the impact and 2 drills and right angle impact and the 2 lights. These are great tools for the money. I have had ZERO issues and have owned them for over 3 years now. The impacts are just awesome for being as small and only 12v
