The Wera 7000 series torque wrenches look awfully similar to Norbar wrenches. I think they are rebranded Norbar wrenches (which I would consider to be a plus), but the dealer claims they are German engineered and made in the Czech Republic, like the rest of Wera tools. Anybody know for sure?

This was definitely weird... I was about to ask about the quality on these in old world thread.

I believe they are made in Great Britian, at least as far as I remember. I'd love a review from someone who owns one.

Ok, if they are made in GB, they are Norbar, and Norbar are great. I have 10 year old Beta torque wrenches that are rebranded Norbar that when given to a competitor to test for accuracy resulted in his saying "these are dead on."

Yes they are Norbar, I have a Sykes Pickavant branded version in 3/8 and a Norbar version in 1/2 drive, nice torque wrenches. The little window to set the scale and the lock work great.

The reversible ratchet on the 3/8 version is nice.

My 1/2 has a push through square drive, but it's not a big deal for me as I rarely deal with left hand threads.

Well it could be Norbar has a few German engineers working for them but as for being made in the Czech Republic....

Like you say, it's a good thing. "When you can't improve on a good thing make it your own" Here's an older Gedore by Norbar:

Norbar, IIRC, is the largest torque wrench manufacturer in Europe.
Family owned business that's been around for decades and all they do is torque wrenches; nothing else.

Charles,

You're a real torque wrench enthusiast! That thing is massive.

Millo777,

I don't think that's a Norbar. OEM must be somebody else.
Norbar's 1/4" drive torque wrench looks like this:

On a side note, that's a sure indicator that Wera is in the bike tool business.
