I got this nearly 2 weeks ago, I've been using it daily. So I thought I'd do a little review. It's not a full composite body, I think the hammer case is steel & the body is aluminum, the handle is rubberized. The exhaust blows out the handle.
First, this thing is tiny. I did some leaf spring shackles on a Ford Ranger & this thing fit between the body & shackle bolts with ease. And it loosened them quick too. I did a couple of hub bearings & I could almost do them without turning the wheel left or right.
Second, its fairly strong. It zips off axle nuts good with out too much drama. It has removed subframe bolts & caliper bracket bolts too. Another advantage to it's small size is you can sometimes get away without using universals sockets.
It's light, its like carrying a 3/8 impact, I find myself loosening wheels above my head while waiting for the oil to drain when doing oil changes/tire rotations.
Its quiet, I don't really care one way or the other about noisy impacts, my boss used to complain about my IR231 & 244s as too loud.
I oiled it a little each day & checked the housing bolts. They were tight. There's a little plug on the port side of the gun that make the grip a little uncomfortable, noting is mentioned in the directions about removing it for lube. I tried to remove it & it wouldn't budge.
The direction lever has 3 settings each way, the lowest setting on forward is good for tightening wheels as I checked it with a torque wrench set at 100 ft/lbs, it was pretty close. I tightened a strut bolt at max setting & tried to turn it with a 24" breaker bar. Trust me, it was tight.
I'd say if you can get one shipped to your home for under 150 bucks, I say go for it.
