I actually bought this set probably 5-6 years ago for the awesome sales price at the time of $199. It was USA then...I just wanted to confirm that they still are (no china ratchets and such mixed in).

Screw it...I just ordered one!

^^ At this price, it is worth it just to risk ordering it. You can always return it in store. Unfortunately, I believe I own everything in the kit.

I bought this kit 3 or so years ago, sold the ratchets, RP's and misc. and was left with an almost free set of sockets.. They've done me well so far.

All the sets in stores around me have been USA recently. One of the last USA sets. Almost worth buying a handful of them for my kids when they grow up.

I don't even want to know how many times over I could piece this kit together from my main boxes. I'd guess 4-5x.

I've got a problem...

I bought one a few months back, made in USA and nothing missing. Nice set to keep in a truck on a road trip. The top of the box has plenty of room for extra tools, which I really like. My only gripe is the wrenches were 6pt (I prefer 12) and they were of poor quality. I ended up replacing the wrenches with a Blackhawk set from ebay.

What would be the reason a socket set goes up to 13/16" and 19mm in 3/8" drive, but only to 5/8" and 13mm in 1/2" drive? For $80 it's still a good deal, but the selection seems odd to me.

Chatted on line with sears rep and confirmed it is usa made set, so ordered it and am waiting for delivery. Better be usa or it will be going back to the local Los Angeles store same day. I'll let you know. Also, dropped by a local sears outlet to see what they have and found nothing but overpriced china craftsman tools. Thought the outlet might have some usa stuff at a reasonable price. Guess not. Sad.

I picked mine up a couple days ago. All USA, even the bits. Nothing was missing either.

Had mine shipped to store so I could refuse it if it was mangled like most of the other stuff Sears has sent me. It was fine. USA made. I haven't organized it yet though. Paid $98 (used points). This set will go in my truck.

I picked up a set, locals Sears had it in stock. It had enough dust on it to leave a rectangular spot on the checkout counter.

Paid $114 after points, pretty pleased with my purchase, it's all USA, no missing or defective pieces. :rocker:

I'm torn between this and the Dewalt 204pc kit.

I have the Dewalt 204 pc set and it's just awesome, all 6 pt, full set of deep well sockets, multiple extensions, universal joints, and spark plug sockets, etc.

The Craftsman 250 pc set is not a complete set and missing many pieces I use regularly. The only advantage of the Craftsman is the ability to add additional tools in the top tray.

I've got one of these. Be careful carrying it, you are carrying it with the trays at an angle down the drawers will fly out and you'll spend 45 minutes putting tools back. Done that a few times, it *****

And yeah, no U joints, adapters, not many extensions, and no 1/2" deep sockets.

That sounds pretty picky for a kit that is $140 + tax. So spend another what, $50 and have about everything you need for under $200?

The Dewalt 204 pc kit is sometimes on sale for around $180. I got it around black friday for about $150. The craftsman kit would be great for storing in a truck tool box.

I bought this set about 6 or 7 years ago and it is USA made. I still have it and used it only a few times and is brand new still. My is red box with black drawers. I just might get me another one for the heck of it.
