i have 2 of the 1600 lumen LED SO worklights I keep at work that are ****** awesome. Costco had a newer style 2000 lumen LED light for $39. I bought one and mounted it on a tripod that came with old halogen lights I have. Thing has to be the best bang for the buck in an LED worklight. Running off a jump pack with an inverter, it only draws 20 watts.. Great buy

I find that good deals in the store often aren't on the web site. For instance, the #767697 security light isn't listed on the web site, but is in the stores at $35.99 (after $10.00 off) so you can't check specifications from home. But a Google search of that part number yields many hits for this light, so you can find out a lot about it, including Amazon feedback.

It would help if you would list the Costco item number for the "Snap On" light.

By the way, 2,000 lumens is about the output of a 125W incandescent bulb. Because of the directional nature of LED's, it may put much more usable lumens in the work area.

Honestly, I threw out the box before I even made it home. I wasn't looking for one, just happen to be there and saw it in the isle. Already having 2 of the 1600 lumen models I knew how good those were and it seemed to good to pass up for a 2000 lumen model since I've been on sort of a kick about upgrading some stuff at home. The entire light is different than the previous model. I do see them on eBay, but people were always asking a lot more than Costco. Even at the higher price I would consider it if I needed one.. I'm just sick and tired of having to replace halogen bulbs every time I need a light, and the bulbs never survive long being at work.. The one thing I can say is that the lights have the higher quality LEDs and the light they throw out is bright and even. They are honestly the best work lights I've owned.

I really hate my work light like this. Mine has the stupid bulbs. This look like something that would last longer. The bulbs are always broken from getting knocked into while they are in storeage. So when I need the light........bulbs are broken and I forgot to pick more up and the stores are closed. Thats always how it works. I like the led idea here.

Thanks, it just so happens that we need to make a Costco run today and I'll check it out. My halogen light get's so hot you can fry an egg on it. (might even be a fire hazard). It might be time to put it out to pasture!

This looks pretty cool. I have a couple of the Halogen work lights but they get crazy hot and working in front of them is like working in front of an oven with the door open.

These are awesome, they get barely warm so you don't have to worry about burning yourself or melting anything.

Only thing I want is a low setting, it's way too much light in some cases.

Easy way to tell if they are not in the box, the 1600 lumen models come with a red stand, and a big red slide on/off switch in the back. This newer 2000 lumen came with a black stand and it has a very small rocker on/off switch.. the face of the 1600 is black (trying to remember), and this new one is a red composite front.. Honestly, they are both great - it's not like you will be disappointed with the 1600..

Great thing about these too is u can run them off a $20 power inverter using the car, or a jump pack with an a/c inverter.. I actually mounted the two 1600's I keep at work on an old craftsman tripod, and run them off a harbor freight power inverter when having to set poles in the dark at night.. The multi billion dollar company I work for didn't see the need to equip many of our digger derricks at work with power inverters, so this is what I resort to in an effort to not kill myself on the job.

I agree, the only way to make these any better IMO is to give them multiple settings or an adjustable dimmer.. Would also be nice if they came with a small collapsing tripod. Other than that I think they are perfect and for $39 I don't mind stealing a tripod off another light.

Great for roadside emergencies too.. They are slim enough to fir inside the rim of a spare or other storage compartments. Keep an 80 watt inverter in the glove box and a 15' extension cord and you never have to worry about being seen on the side of the road or struggle changing a tire..

Honestly, I can't image why no one has taken the head of one of these and mounted it to the rack for an underhood work light.. I really think it would be better than anything I've seen for sale online.

Bought the 2000 lumen one today for something like $33.00. It's amazingly bright. Maybe too bright. Sort of like SUN bright. Might need a shade 10 welding helmet bright. I think I'm trying to say that it's really bright.

Its too bright for that, honestly. I've put it in my engine bay a couple times in a pinch, and spent the whole time squinting and shielding my eyes.

I picked one up last week. It puts those cheapo halogens to shame. Not to shabby for made in China. I may have to pick up another.

Absolutely love those things! I snagged 2 in each of my last two trips to Costco. The damn heat from my old halogen was a killer! Can't tell you how many times I've burnt my fingers on that stupid thing. Now it's collecting dust on a shelf.

does anyone have the 2700 lumen one?

Don't want to start up and older thread again but, at Costco yesterday they had the 2700 lumen SO led work lights for $25 each, I bought 10 of them, and 8 of them at mounted to the roof in my Quonset on the farm, keeps everything really bright in there and than I have to I walk around with while working on the tractor and vehicles. Thor old 500watt halogen are only good for pre heating the tractors oil pan and that's it.
