Acrylics or Solvent based, 100% solids or ? I'm Putting my $$ where my MOUTH is!

I know that there are some 'haters' of Water Based products. As with Any of the products discussed on this forum, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Acrylic technology is the FASTEST growing segment of the epoxy business. Acrylic coatings are generally 100% UV STABLE. They have little to NO odor.
They are TOUGHER, More abrasion Resistant.

Acrylics are MUCH more user friendly, Are more suited to 'circumvent' MORE "beginner" mistakes. Some Acrylics can be 'less' chemical resistant. MOST are Better. They Dry Much Quicker, Allow for Re coating MUCH QUICKER. They can be used from CLEAR to colors tinted to the brightest and most vivid colors.

Acrylics are MUCH easier to 'match' in. Meaning if you want to do 'half' of your garage NOW and move your stuff to the other side then finish, NO PROBLEM. VERY effective at COMPLETELY hiding the seam.

The technological advances (such as those in our products) give you a SINGLE component, Self Crosslinking, coating that dries in MINUTES and is ready to recoat in an hour or less. With abrasion tests from independent laboratories showing a 10x abrasion resistance than EVEN 100% solids.

I have NO problem telling EVERYONE the truth about my products. It bothers me those who will 'spin' their product to accomplish their agenda. I have read a lot of GREAT posts about how they were given 'most' of the details. But for some reason in their posts they feel compelled to reveal 'consistent' failures / Issues with their installation.

The reason these 'wizards' are trying to sell you on the fact that they are 'better'. Truth is they make MUCH LARGER sums of money selling you their 'outdated' technology.

"Anybody here want to buy a Great Pentium 75 mhz computer Paid over $2000 Sell for $1200?"

We can send a man to the moon, we can clone a sheep, monkey, and (my dream) Jessica Alba. But you think we can't make a coating that doesn't smell, has to be put on like Tammy Faye Bakers Makeup AND is Difficult to install???

NOW the $$ Where my MOUTH is part.

This should be interesting!

Quick question for you about your product...

3- Winner must apply by 12 midnight on January 15th 2009
What kind of environmental concerns are there with installing your product on cold concrete? That time period is about the coldest it can get in some parts of the country...

- Dave

...interested to see how this turns out.

Perhaps you can clarify something. You are "the epoxy floor guy" but you say acrylics are better. That doesn't compute.

I TRIED! 'Self cross linking Co-polymer Modified Acrylic Coating Guy' Was Taken! :bounce:

LOL

It is STILL considered an Epoxy.

Most lay people don't care if it is Epoxy or Ice Cream as long as it has the properties you describe.

The Competition usually gets 'nosy' and is NOT satisfied with 'epoxy'.

Not that I am implying you are the competition. I GUARANTEE the 'lay' person will not be able to identify the 'epoxy' floor vs the 'Acrylic'

Who are the independent laboratories and where can we read their conclusions?

What makes this single component activate? Air?

How long has this product been available for?

Where has it been used and for how long?

Any long term test results available?

Any pics of the finished product available?

In answer to your question:

I have lab tests coming they will be available in a day or two.

The product is activated by AIR

This formulation has been available for about 2 Years.

We do have some Tested in Place tests. A post SOON on those alone.

I have pics posted on my Flickr page at: http://flickr.com/photos/27875675@N06/

MOST of the pics shown are of This product. Some are not.

I am sending a SAMPLE of the product to EVERYONE who has signed up already AND to everyone who will signup before the deadline. IF you are NOT eligible or do not wish to be considered for the contest but would like a sample mailed to you in the Forum HANDLE put your handle and put SAMPLE ONLY in the box.

*** IF YOU DO NOT PUT YOUR HANDLE NO SAMPLE WILL BE SENT ***

I'm in as well. My old water based epoxy floor is starting to flake and peel after 5 years. If I am lucky enough to win, this should help offset the cost of re-doing it as I will need to rent a floor grinder to get the old stuff off. Thank you for the opportunity Troy!

Can i get in to try on a customers garage?

How soon do the pictures need to be sent back...obviously since your in IA. you know what we're getting temp wise currently, and while i have no problem doing a free installation for sake of my own curiosity and possibly being able to upsell clients yet another product, I'm not about to waste hundreds in fuel prices to heat and maintain heat in a brand new unheated structure either on my dime.

Let me know, am interested but did'nt know if this was strictly for hobbiest or if I can jump in on the contractor sector building garages for clients.

** To all in Winter wonderland *** (anyplace Really Really Cold right now)

The installation (and shipment) would happen when conditions are SUITABLE for proper installation.

If the garage is heated AND the floor temperature is at least 40 degrees, You could do it ANY time. IF your garage is NOT so equipped, Spring is FINE.

Thank you to ALL that have signed up. We have ALMOST Every state represented now. THANK YOU to ALL who are signed up and GOOD LUCK!!

But I'm planning to do my brother's garage as I have done mine in ceramic.
Hope this doesn't violate contest rules.

WHat a great, and generous, idea -- if I didn't have moisture migrating through my slab (you don't have to ask how I know that, do you), I'd be all over this offer -- if I won, though, it would only serve as a testemonial as to where NOT to apply your product --

thanks for a great offer, sir!

I guess I'll represent Oklahoma.

I have never done any type of floor covering before so I really would be a rookie. My garage is a 24x20 with a 8x10 cubbie up front with the obligatory oil stains, but no spalling or any major cracks I'm aware of. I grind, I weld, I change oil, rebuild engines, etc in there, it's about 10 years old and I have no moisture problems.

I wasn't really considering doing anything to it as I hope to add on a 3 bay garage next to it that would have a floor coating on it, this would just be the family garage, the 3 bay would be my man cave where there would be no bicycles, skate boards, Christmas decorations and no one allowed unless I let them in (yes, even immediate family).

I am mainly a lurker--and new homeowner. Don't have much to show in my garage quite yet but this would be a dramatic improvement and fit into the plans for my garage nicely.

Bomber,

What if I were to tell you that I can ALSO provide a coating that will STOP this?

Unless your floor has RUNNING WATER across it, I can provide (if you win) a coating that will perform in YOUR application!!! :pimpflash

I signed up, then got an automated email asking me to click another link to get a randomly-generated number or I wouldn't be entered.

I reluctantly clicked the link and got "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Sorry MrEpoxyFloorGuy, this is a little too cumbersome and a bit fishy if you ask me.

Why is this random number thing even necessary?? Call me cynical but I'm expecting to now be on a spam email list........

This is the part that makes me nervous.

** Again Remember if you are NOT elegible and Win, If proven you were NOT elegible you agree to pay Troy Bengford $1500 for the purchase of the merchandise shipped **

How can I be sure Im not at all elegible? It kinda sounds you might end up paying $1,500 for the material if you win after its shipped. Ive never seen a contest that you agree to pay if you dont meet the rules. Dont they usuall just throw away your entry?

Interesting stuff. I looked on the website but I cannot find a place to order the actual epoxy. I am interested in how much it costs.

IF you are signing up Willing to give me a 100% honest and Fair Evaluation You will not be charged.

I don't want someone "pretending" to be Unbiased then giving me a Oh this is a bunch of **** Review.

IF my stuff is a bunch of **** (I don't think it is) I want to know. But if I am giving away my $$ to someone wanting to sabotage my reputation, I want them to know I will Keep tabs on the winner. If they have tried to get this for the purpose of 'skewing' the results I want them to know there are some TEETH in the consequences. If they don't see any DOWNSIDE, they have NO REASON NOT to try. IF you are in doubt If you THINK you may have a conflict PM me FIRST.

Plus do you want someone who is Ineligible winning instead of YOU???

This rule is in place for BOTH our Protection.

Ringmaster,

I have looked into the email, there was an error in the coding. SORRY.

I just wanted to create a way that seems the fairest and least biased.

To show you I am going to have SOMEONE you TRUST on this site to do the 'drawing' of the random number.

As long as the person is not entered to win. I would prefer it be an administrator or owner of this board. But ANYONE we can agree on that you feel would be UNBIASED and Fair. is OK with me.

They will not have the list of Handles with the numbers you have 'guessed' trying to be the closest. I will have NO control over the Number they generate at Random.org !

Does that sound like a FAIR UNBIASED way for everyone to have an equal chance??

Please PM me your nominations. I will look them over and give you a chance to VOTE on the 'unbiased' party.

I will be gone until Sunday night. I will return then and answer any more q's.

THANKS TO ALL THAT HAVE SIGNED UP

AND

YOU WILL NOT GET SPAMMED BY ME. You will get a couple emails, reminding you of the drawing. If you have not yet confirmed or entered your guess, you will get emails REMINDING YOU to do so. Afterward you will get an email from me informing you of the winner. You will also get an email with pics and details of his installation. That's it. IF YOU CHOOSE I can put you on our mailing list to get our specials and discounts but you will need to agree to be put on that list.

Thanks

OK, I believe you.

BUT, I just got another email with the same request, and (looks like) the same link. I clicked it and again get a page not found error........

So, I still am not qualified.......

:headscrat:headscrat

When you get a chance, tell me what I need to do.

Also, the email says that the random number will be drawn Jan 15, 2008 !!!! maybe 2009???? ;)

I just purchased my first home and I've been lurking on this site reading up on different floor coatings (and the loads of arguments). Your contest finally got me to register for the site so I could enter. If nothing else, I'm looking forward to the free sample I can play with.

So we enter by putting in a guess for a number? If so I entered. I have a floor that will truly test your coatings!
