Nissan - Are these the sears craftsman wrench holders that you are using? Do you have to attach them to the drawer liners to keep them stable? How many packages did you need to do your work box wrench drawer, for example...

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00965397000P

Yes, that's it. I love them. They come with double back tape on them. I cut the liner out around them, and tape them directly to the drawer, works great. I think there's about 2 packs for the big wrench drawer.

another nicely organized box. I hate disorganized toolboxes. One guy on my crew just has **** thrown in, doesn't even put things back in the same drawer. Whenever he asks me to open a drawer and grab a tool for him, as soon as I see the jumbled tools and try to find what he wants, my brain locks up worse than Windows ME.

That spring for the wrenches looks good because it keeps them nice and close to one another without alot of wasted space. I've got springs out the ying yang; I am going to have to experiment with that tommorow.

Nissan, In several pictures you have what looks like a white foam pad with indents for your tools. Great for making sure all your tools are all there. What, how and where? Your box looks great and I'm sure the time you put in getting it that way (which was substantial) has paid great dividends in efficency and obviously bragging rights. Look forward to the foam answers. Thanks, fat

Honestly, not sure what it is. I bought it from http://www.yardstore.com/index.htm. I think it was about $15 for a sheet about 6" bigger than one of those drawers. Not cheap, but one lost tool pays for it, plus more. At the end of the day at work, I just quick go through all the drawers and look for open spots. It pays off several times a month.

95% of the stuff I use regularly are in my cart and on the pegboard (pics below). My two 26" Kobalt boxes are a bit less organized...

question about the waifer looking drawer liners. how do you keep them from sliding around??? i just put them in all the drawers in my box. i cut them to fit and cleaned all the oil off the bottom of the drawer. after i open and close the drawer a few times the liner and my tools slide back about an inch. it doesn't do it in the drawers that have alot of tools.

The "tackiness" in cupboard liners really varies. Some have virtually no tackiness. I bought a bunch of rolls of some black liner materiel at Wally-World, cut it to fit and it doesn't move. I can slam the drawers shut and everything stays put. It's very tacky. Sorry, but I don't remember the brand.

That might be the best method of storing wrenches that i've seen to date.

Thanks! My toolboxes aspire to be as organized as Nissan's, but the flesh is weak and the space is limited :D

I looked at the Cman foam organizers Nissan is using but the spacing is too big for the little cart. I wouldn't have been able to fit two sets behind each other... So I had to make them myself.

Eventually, I'd like to get Ernst wrench and socket holders for my bigger box. Too much money at the moment since I'm only just seeing the end of the tools I can't live without...

i've looked at the ernst wrench organizers and might pickup a set, the spacing looks smaller than the craftsman foam ones. I have them, but i'm not really happy with them to be honest. Right now I just have my wrenches laying flat, which is also taking up the most room in the drawers.

If you get the Ernst ones, I'd be really interested in your impressions.

Laying flat is no option for me... No room for that. Currently, I use whatever holders they came with or some cheap metal racks. With the magnetic Ernst ones, I could really save some drawer space, though...

These are Ernst racks, I think you get the most amount of wrench in the least space while still being able to grab just one at a time; important if you're **** about keeping 'em clean like I am (just a hobbyist, couldn't do this as any kind of pro):

Here are some picture of how I have my tools stashed. Mind you I dont have tools that compete with most of the people on this board:bowdown:...but they do what I need them to do:thumbup:. I have a very small supply of SO (few ratchets, screwdrivers, scrapers, impact sockets)....I have mostly craftsman as you can see. With a few HF junk tools mixed in. There are some Proto, Plomb, Williams, Indestro, Cornwell , SK, Mac, Matco wrenches & Impact sockets that I have in my 26" box....Ill try to find those pics...Here is how I keep my 41" box......

Very nice! I like the hammer drawer. (I recognize 5 of those, but we won't tell!) You and I have a lot of the same tools. How deep is your extension drawer? I have some super long extensions so a small one wouldn't work for me.

I noticed you have another cabinet in your shop. Is that where you keep your power tools? I'd like to see how homeowners/hobbyists store their power tools. Anyone? Mine, for the most part are in the bottom drawer of my box.

I use the same Wally-world stuff, It is Duct Brand shelf liner. comes in two sizes and is cheap, seems to work darn well though! It's in the kitchen side of things not by the auto or tools if your looking to pick some up. Comes in a few colors too, if thats important to ya
