I have one I put up 13 years ago, love having it 30X40. Also have a 19X21 kit building that we use for a fishing cabin on the Texas gulf coast. Only way to go, great quality of materials.

All: i'd love to build a Mueller steel building when we move. several members have already and posted their builds in the garage gallery section so you might do a search. also a new member is building a really nice one and has some cool racing pictures if you might want to welcome him and ask questions or just admire his build. here's a link

Don't have their parts but have been to a local facility - they seem like pretty decent people to deal with.

Looking at their 30x40x12 standard series "Big Workshop" for $6795 for the building kit (plus tax), seems like a legit deal

They have a location near me. I have used some of their components and they are good quality.

It really depends more on your erector. Even the best building poorly erected will be a problem. Unfortunately there a great many people in the metal building erection trade that are less than professional.

Make sure the "standard" building wind loads will work for your locations building codes. Not sure where "Deep South" is but the wind loads have gone up in most coastal areas post Katrina, even for areas 100+ miles inland. Additionally IBC made some code changes in the late 2000s that raised stiffness requirements.

Hope this helps.

Going by their Kilgore, TX location tues. to inquire on the - 24' x 30' x 11' Garage. Hoping to get their suggestions for builder and concrete work. Talked to several people that have their smaller buildings and all are impressed.

Deep South = Previous Northshore (Slidell, LA) resident than after Katrina moved 30 miles north to Carriere MS, from 24ft above sea level to 130 ft above sea level, no more flooding for us. :rocker:

Both myself & my brother put up our buildings ourselves. I had my 40x60 concrete done & we poured my brothers 30x40.
Love our shops. Now some items of note.
1. If you removed a tree stump, compact it every 6 inches during dirt fill. They compacted mine with a trac skid steer & you ddont get the compation due to the tracks spread out its weight. Weeks after a cavity developed at the edge of the slab. Dug it out 6 feet & compacted every 6". Pics coming soon.
2. If you have trees forget gutters unless you like a garden 12' up in the air.
Put down rocks in the drip line. Stops dirt from building up on the siding from the rain.
4. Measure twice & pour once! One of my anchor bolting for a column was 1 1/2" off.. I noticed it after the main beams was errected & my holes in the purlins started not matching up.. (jacked up the column, drilled the concrete 6" to bent the anchor bolts a little & slotted the base plate. Worked oerfect.whew!
5 the corregated roll up doors have a Lot of air leakage if you are AC cooling. Conventional roll up panel doors seal better. Just somthing to think about.
6. Flat or sloped concrete floor. Your choice. Jut note... Flat is not 100% flat. Mine isn't and when I wash down after a dirty task some water wants to run under the cabinets.
7. Car port? My 40x60 shop is actually 40x40 with a 20' extension for a carport. LOVE my carport area. I do a lot of stuff out there.
