Have you been naughty or nice? Soon it will be time to fill the stockings and boxes for all the good boys and girls in GarageJournal land. We can use this thread to help out all the Santa's in preparation for the big day.

Thank you Blacknwhitepit for taking on the 8th Annual 2015 Secret Santa

His message is below:
"On the 28th of November at 4PM EST entry for Secret Santa ends... I will gather all the participants names and put them in a hat and draw random names. Secret Santas are not reciprocal, meaning the member you are Secret Santa for is not necessarily your Secret Santa (Completely random, but it may happen). That night, (or morning) I will PM you back with who you are the Secret Santa for."

I will start this off.

Dear Santa,
I like most things associated with the garage. Things with wheels and engines make me smile. I have a wide variety of interest, especially vintage things, but new is ok too. Really anything will work and in the last several years my Santa's have done a great job.

Things that mention vintage Ford or Purolator make me

So here is your chance guys/gals... give you Secret Santa some clues to make the season a great one.

Okay, I'll play. I like things with wheels too, mostly Hot Rod cars and trucks. I have a 1956 Chevy p/u project right now. I also like T-shirts from Rod shops etc. and interesting wall art for the garage. Hats from your area work too. I'm a Chevy guy all the way. I am also a deer hunter and antique lover.

I hope this helps a little. Size xl for shirts. Happy with anything.

Mike

I am a collision repair technician. I have been at this for over twenty years so I have just about every tool I need. The tools I usually buy now a days are " oooooh thats a cool tool " or " Hey that will make things a lot easier " Odd gizmo tools are always neat.

I do not wear hats, I do not drink coffee. I am not into sluts and ho's. My tee shirt size is XL. Anything with the yellow smiley face is cool.

I am not ungrateful. Any gift is a cool gift. Cept for a gift card, good god man, put some thought into it.

I have used the last few gifts I received extensively which were all surprise gifts so I hate to jinx myself, but... if I had to say what would be cool it would be to receive something hand made by my Secret Santa. We have tremendous talent on the board so anything made by this OCD crew would be fantastic! I am going to be building a new shop so anything to decorate the walls would also be greatly appreciated.

If you cant tell yet I'm a welder and have my own small company. I love different stickers to put on my truck. I'm a sucker for vintage tools and new tools the same. I wear a medium shirt. I don't mind hats at all and wear one every day. A few other things is I love Jerky, but don't do well with spicy stuff. I also used to collect diecast construction equipment but I still look for older Bobcat models.

I like any old mechanics tools, particularly old and unusual ratchets. Old tool catalogs, displays and anything of that nature. I also restore old muscle cars. That all said, I'm happy with whatever you feel is appropriate!

I am 29, a veteran using my gi bill.
I live in an apartment so no garage to decorate.
I LOVE a good beer, I tend to lean towards wheats. Shiner Bock, Franconia Wheat.
I am starting my tool collection, I have started with two buddy blasters, the 52 and the 64. A gearwrench 20 piece sae/metric non reversible ratchet wrenches(I got lucky and got a tawain set). I have ordered a set of felo 550 and felo 206 to start with screwdrivers. A duralast socket set that is missing a few pieces.
I am a computer gamer, love good movies, music, motorcycles.I had a buell blast, I liked it, but was a bit too sport bike for me. I plan to get back on a bike in the future. A cruiser for sure. 2xl shirt.

If I missed anything thats important let me know LOL

I will appreciate anything, but if you need a pointer..............

I am into any kind of original type metal sign. It can be or say anything as long as it's not reproduced. I hate repop stuff. Small or large is fine with me.

I'm a Toyota 4x4 fanatic. This includes (but not limited to) Landcruisers, 1st gen 4Runner and any year pickup.

Don't drink coffee.

Feel free to creep though my post history, not sure how helpful it'll be though.

A bit of basic info:
I'm 23.
I'm fairly picking about clothing so it might be best to avoid that category all together.
Trying to get into woodworking (bought a scroll saw recently and will be getting a table saw and maybe a lathe soon)
Currently live in an apartment but plan on buying a house within the next year with my fiancee.
I have a good set of hand tools but am always looking for 'new' (usually old US-made) ratchets, especially fond of unusual styling.
I like Subaru's and am currently working on making my Outback a little more capable off-road and for hauling things (I use the poor car like a truck fairly often)
I went to school for industrial electricity and electrical power generation but have thought about going back for mechanical engineering.

Tool wise I will use anything given, I do need a set of drill bits at the moment.
I don't drink coffee a good cider is my hot drink of choice. I don't drink much alcohol.
I am a big hockey fan, the Winnipeg Jets and the old Hartford whalers are my favorite NHL teams I like college hockey in general. I also like college football I follow Texas, TCU, Kentucky & Washington State in football

I have a 1965 Chevy C-10 pick up project and like things related to 60-66 GM trucks. 1965 license plates are always cool with me.

I am also in to Triumph, BSA & Indian motorcycles even though I ride a Japanese bike currently. I also like Rocket 88 era Oldsmobiles. I like Smith & Wesson related things I carry their pistols and knives.

I work in the auto collision industry with PPG & Glasurit products so I like promo things those paint companies.

T-shirts from body shops and independent motorcycle shops are always cool size XL

I wear hats but have a small head so adjustable hats are best for me.

Ink pens , stickers and things from my SS's local area are fun to get too. BBQ seasonings and things of that nature I enjoy too. I have a massive sweet tooth .

I'll be grateful for anything I receive but maybe this will helped if you need it.

I'm a DIY guy who has 2 Camaro's that I show and maintain. I'm into sports (Oakland Raiders, Oakland A's, Notre Dame), beer, tools, stickers. Tool wise, I'm into USA made Craftsman, NOS Channellocks, Green Snap On.

I have participated in this for 3 or 4 years and have never been disappointed. Thanks all!

Active duty Navy Submarine A-ganger (Mechanic/Plumber). A tool head but not a tool polisher. I enjoy USA made anything.

Shirt size XL, the only time I wear hats are underway. Don't really want to list anything specific as to me that defeats the purpose of a gift, so anything will be appreciated.

Definitely looking forward to this year. :)

I'm a tool hoarder. I have a farm shop and work on anything from small appliances to combines. I also do carpentry. I am a Factory Service Tech for Pride Mobility and repair lift chairs and scooters in Iowa and Eastern Nebraska. I have a 5-ton excavator and do dirt work. I buy and sell tools and equipment, so I have flats of extra screw drivers, pliers, and low-end wrenches in inventory. I have been wrenching for 20 years, so I have most normal tools. I have an angel son, a 7 year old daughter, a 5 year old daughter, and have a 7month son. I drive Ford Trucks, Ford Case, and Deere tractors. I just got my National FF1 certificate and am on a volunteer fire department. I wear xl gloves, xl shirts and 7-5/8 hat. I like odd tools that are useful and old Craftsman stuff.

First year with the SS, although I've followed the threads for a few years....

Let's see I'm an Army Veteran, (a young one though - 33) I'm working on my MBA at Syracuse University, I have 2 daughters and a wonderful wife, we're looking to buy our first home early next year, Currently I have garage envy of nearly all of you, I do however have a space to do some work. I was a mechanic in the Army, and can't wait until I have a garage of my own to have a go-fast project.. I'm a ford guy for cars, but their trucks just don't do anything for me lately, I also like VW/Audi. I have a nice socket set, but have been looking for a comfortable ratchet as the one I have is the rough one that came with my Craftsfman mechanics set. I'm a size 2XL in shirts, I don't wear hats often, but when I do they're the flexfit. I enjoy beer (mostly wheat beers), whiskey and scotch, although I don't get to often.

I hope this helps some, and I hope I do well with my SS recipient's gift... more-so than I'm worried about mine...

Good deal, I love the helper thread, hopefully my recipient posts here....

As for me, feel free to creep on my history, as I am not really looking for anything specifically.

I would love to receive anything tool related, but especially something with some custom value to it (i.e. maybe something that was found at a garage sale, or restored, just not a store bought item that I can get at the local HD). Stuff from HJE is always good, love to support them!

A bit about me;
I live in Texas and work for Caterpillar building G3500 series gas compression engines (heavy duty tools, 3/4'' drive, 1'' drive, etc).

At home I have been getting more and more in to woodworking. Within the past month I have bought a router, table saw, RAS, etc.

I enjoy restoring vises, I currently own a Yost 204, Wilton C0, and an older Columbian made Craftsman.

I live with my two dogs Lilly and Tori (pit/lab mix, and lab mix), and my beautiful girlfriend.

Obviously like others here, I have an infinite number of projects going on; cylinder head on my VW, restoration of a saw, building a trailer, building a couple tables, some repairs on the girl's car (catalytic converter, front end bushings, ball joints, etc.).

This is my first SS. Looking forward to whatever I receive. I always enjoy opening up a new tool. It's always fun to add to the tool collection. Something local would be cool too.
I love Ford Trucks, John Deere, Snap On Tools, Klein, Knipex, Dewalt and Bosch. Really anything tool or garage related, especially made in the USA. I wear XXL shirts (nothing with large pictures), don't wear hats often but I do on the weekends. I also like garage art and signs.
I enjoy woodworking, DIY, and automotive work, especially automotive wiring.
Feel free to research my posts as well for ideas.

One last note. I'm definitely NOT into sports.

Dear Santa,

I like messing with electronics, cars, drinking craft beer, eating jerky, and lately I've been getting into hobby machinist stuff. Any good project kits or materials would be cool. I like hats and I wear XXL t-shirts. I like Chevrolets and I have a soft spot for old Datsuns.

Ok here I go 51 years old, XL shirt. I have 10 chainsaws, like hats and all food items. I could use a Vernier caliper, medium work gloves or wood cutting item. Really anything is cool with me. :):)

Pretty excited for my first year participating. So here goes:
I love cars, and I'm particularly into Bmws and American muscle. Usually American muscle in Bmw
I wear XL shirts
I don't like coffee, alcohol, or smokes (I'm pretty boring that way)
Haven't met a tool I didn't like
Shiny things are cool
I like vintage signs
Cool shop stuff
I do a lot of car part and tool fabricating
Meat is my best friend, I enjoy cooking a lot

Overall I'm very excited for whatever I get, and will be happy no matter. Pretty excited to give as well

This will be my 3rd year participating in the secret Santa here and have never been disappointed with the gifts that have been received. I am good with anything my secret Santa has to give but I will post a little about myself.

I am 32 and married with a 3 year old daughter
I am a classic to late 80's Chevy fan, especially the caprice or Impala
My full time job is a auto mechanic who has a slight obsession with green snap on tools
I wear a size XL shirt and do wear hats
Have had my own garage for a couple years now but the walls are pretty bare
DIY kinda guy.. Do some metal fab, body and paint
Recently have started into woodworking doing custom stereo installs and trunk panels so my router gets used quite a bit

But I don't drink coffee or watch any sports

In the end I am just in this to have fun and will enjoy anything I receive

This is my first year participating and I'm excited about it. I enjoy USA and German made tools, turbo's, Shelby vehicles as well as Mopar, and wear a size XL shirt. I will appreciate any gift that I receive. I am not a sweet tooth, rarely drink coffee or alcohol. Vintage collectables are cool!

I'll be happy with whatever my secret santa gives as a gift. I figure if they dig it I will too.

I'll give some clues/tips/hints/ideas but anything is game.

I like tools of all kinds U.S.A. especially but I'm not against imports if it's cool. Maybe unusual things. I enjoy golf, cigars, poker, alcohol of any kind. T-shirt size xxl. Anything welding/fabricating related. Browns season ticket holder. Like using my weber smoky mountain smoker and plan on building a gravity feed stumps clone in the spring. No Hats! I do wear lots of hats but my head is enormous and I only wear a certain brand style that is too specific for SS. Cool and unusual is good but ordinary is good too.

Pretty much anything!

What kind of hint for an SS... Hmmm....

One, I'm a girl, and I love being surprised. Diamonds... Furs... Cars... trips to Monaco... the deed to a platinum mine... a 54 convertible too, light blue...

(Sorry, but I just couldn't resist )

Hard to give hints, and I'm sure whatever I get I'll like. If you're really stuck (and don't want to go with the above list)...

Something very cool and handmade is always awesome. Especially cool wall hangers for the shop. Or something to take up space on my desk. (And from you guys, I expect something cool, not all frilly and stuff... yeesh!)

I like stuff from before WW2, and even better before about 1930. Old tools, toys, pens, stuff like that. Also unusual books - for example, I have the 1929 Bethlehem catalog the bridge engineer used to order steel for the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge. Old car / motorcycle books or repair manuals - from the 30's and before.

But if it's none of that, that's cool too - it's the thought that counts!

Well I'm one of the Brits one here, to be honest, I'm easy.

I love the wall art and scrap sculptures some of you do, but I'd be equally happy with a dogbone multi wrench or a cool t-shirt (xl)

I just hope I can please you guys too!
