This is my 2nd GJSS so to make life easier on my SS here's my post! I somewhat think the list of things i don't do would be shorter than i do. Lol
I'm a heavy equipment operator/mechanic as a day job. After work i do a little blacksmithing, Vol. Firefighter/Rescue Technician, work on my '48 willys Cj2A jeep restoration project. I've recently started to get into woodworking, nothing major and mostly traditional tools (hand planes, draw knives etc) to add to the blacksmithing end by adding the metal to the wood. Also i've been restoring old wood and metalworking tools. Along with the standard cigars and alcohol of course! I wear hats, keeps my hair in check along with L or XL shirts. I'm kind of in between sizes lol. Going to be 29 by the time this rolls around and we'll be just starting to move/settle in to the new property. Settlement is supposed to be Dec 18th. Just in time for the holidays.
No worries on it not getting to me due to the move, the address i gave will be good for a long time.
No matter what is gifted to me i'm sure i'll enjoy it, especially from a like minded member of the GJ! I can only hope my victim (recipient) posts here so i'm not left in the dark!

I am 60, and back in school at a local tech college (TCAT) taking their hybrid vehicle course. Mostly to learn, but perhaps find a part time job on hybrid boats or show support, etc. for boats.

love boat stuff

I love my garage and gas/diesel powered products and tools. I have a 1992 Flareside F-150 that is my current project.

I am a ham radio operator and build kits for low power operation (QRP). I enjoy arduinos and technology, and use a MAC daily for GJ and internet.

I like quality over quantity in things, especially tools.

Don't like coffee and don't drink, sold my harley a few years back to build the garage.

This is my fourth GJ secret Santa, I'm pretty stooked! I am happy to be a part of this great community and would love what ever I get. Just to give some ideas of what I'm into though.
Proto tools, wheelhorse tractors, deer hunting, morel hunting, ryobi 18v tools, pocket knives, adjustable pliers, vise grips, old or unique stuff...make me laugh lol , I am always amazed by the gifts that I have received here!

This is my first SS and I'm excited!

I don't drink alcohol or coffee. I'm not into sports.

I like off-roading, riding my ATV, and kayaking. I'm working on building an off-road buggy (full size, 4wd vehicle). I enjoy welding, metal fabrication, diy projects and wood working. I'm 26, married, 3 dogs, no kids and 1 car garage. I'm working on starting my own mowing and snow removal business, I've been doing the work on the side for years and have decided to expand a little bit on the side. I have another full-time job working IT.

Second time here doing SS.

I'm 25, single, don't drink coffee or much alcohol. Also don't wear hats, but wear a size medium shirt! Not too interested in sports unless it involves two wheels. I like watching MotoGP, World Superbike, Isle of Man, etc. Currently an Engineering Technician with a Mechanical Design Degree and just started up classes this Fall for my Bachelors. I'll be coming up on having owned my (first) house end of December this year.

I just recently finished remodeling the inside of my garage and can now go back to my focus of working on my different motorcycle projects. I mostly ride street bikes, but have recently gotten a KTM Supermoto that I'll be doing some work on. I've got most of the basic hand tools (ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, etc), but would appreciate whatever is sent.

Retired this year @ 55 and still get up early. Anything garage related is appreciated. I spend most of my time there, if I'm not hanging in the outdoors.

I am knee deep into a restoration of a 100 year old building so I haven't posted much here lately.
Likes: SK Tools and Lit, Antique tools, Chevy/GMC Signage, '55Merc Wagon taillights, N-scale trains, Vintage USMC stuff...
Dislikes: Repopped stuff, mugs and such, Harbor Fright...

I've had great gifts from my SS's in the past.

This is my second year doing the SS and very happy to be doing it again. I'm 41, married and enjoy all garage related stuff. I'm a jack of all trades and enjoy repurposing items into useful stuff I can use. If need some hints I'm a collector small little vises and craftsman tools ( new or vintage ). My tools are a mix of Craftsman, Kobalt, or some tool company (USA). Some things I don't have currently is ratcheting wrenches (metric) and flex head ratchets to name somethings off hand. Fell free to check out my garage thread but anything my SS will send is appreciated.

My SS can feel free to peruse my postings for ideas but not sure how much info they'll get from that. As with most on this forum, anything garage related (signs, gas memorabilia, etc) is always nice. For current projects, at the moment I'm building a 72 Chevy K10 with an LSX conversion and attempting a restore on a 70's era Snap on toolbox stack. I’m pretty set with tools but I do have a wanted items list if by some wild chance my SS has reasonable access to something listed on it. The items are mostly rare and oddball but I figured it was worth mentioning just in case. I do wear hats on occasion, my shirt size is xxl or xxxl if it's a small make, and I drink (too much) dark roast coffee. I also have small collections of die cast vehicles, zippos and pocket knives. Some little thing specific to my SS's locale would be kinda cool too.

All that being said, I honestly don't "expect" any of the items listed above. This is a thread of hints and by no means is my post a guide. I'd appreciate anything as long as it's evident that some thought was put behind it.

Feel free to be creative in what you pick, but if you need specific hints, here is (mostly) my usual "I'm interested in trading for" list:

I'm big into Plvmb (Plomb), Pexto, Long C Craftsman, interesting hammers, Old German/Solengin knives/hatchets, mostly hunting (Love the steel these are made from), Suzuki Samurai's, vintage camping gear, trick useful camping gear (I've been known to make my own stuff...)

Not really into hats (The wrong fit gives me headaches...), beer/alcohol, or cheese, but other than that, I'm pretty easy as my interests are very diverse.

This is my 2nd round and I'm excited! Time to start stalking. As for my Secret Santa, I say feel free to exercise your creative side and send me something that reflects you. I would love to see something you made, fixed or even found. If there is a story behind it then that makes it even better, I wanna hear it. If not then make something up about how you stole this canibler from ET haha.

I'm 36 living in Baltimore working as a tech on forklifts n such. Don't really need anymore hats, calendars or shirts. My old jig saw recently gave up on me so it's time to pick up another. I've been thinking up ideas of how to better organize screwdrivers lately and like the look of the ERNST racks. I love getting my hands on signs/wall art, older pullers, slide hammer hooks, and pick up carbide bits whenever I find a good deal on them.

Well there are a few ideas for you. In the end I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever you come up with. I just hope you have as much fun finding something for me as I hope to have coming up with the perfect gift for my Secret Santa. To you and yours Happy Holidays :)

This is my first year in and I didn't have enough posts last year or this year to qualify (the search button does wonders). Luckily I had a few fine gentlemen vouch for me this time around. Seeing as I don't have a ton of posts I am sure this will be helpful. I am an active duty Marine, I have been in the Corps about 11 years. Big hobbies of mine are road cycling and mountain biking (and maintaining them). Anything rimfire. I enjoy Wranglerstar's you tube channel which should help you a lot as there is lots to choose from there. Tools are welcome, I will post some drawer shots later so you can decided what I am missing. T-Shirt size is large, don't wear hats, love beer! Good luck, now I need to start the hunt myself.

So. Since I lurk more than post it seems.. my project this winter is to build my new workbench. Going steel. Going to have 8' of steel top and a section with butcher block top for my computer to sit on. I love reusing and re-purposing things like this block top I acquired.

My son turned 2 this year and is becoming my helper in the garage. By helper I mean he loves going down there and riding his tricycle while I work on things. He is getting his addiction of cars and trucks though started early. Last night at the store he was standing there picking up hot wheels toys one at a time and setting them back down until he found one and asked my wife and I if he could have it. Lol. He doesn't do that with anything else. Anyways I digress.

I'm a diy-er. Of just about everything. But cars are my passion. My 84 Mustang is my toy. Uhm. What else. I wear a 2x shirt. Anything is welcome. I am mostly looking forward to giving something unique to my recipient. Back to hunting for their gift.

While its part of the fun to research the persons posts, I realize that can be part a bit of a pain so I will do my best to make it a bit easier. In all honesty I will be happy with whatever my SS gives me. I like surprises.

Things I like:

Machining and metal fabrication, I have a small job shop that does welding, manual machining and fab work. It's my passion and my career.

I have a dual sport motorcycle, an 05 kawasaki KLR and I love going on cross country trips camping with it.

I like books on the trades, cool old industrial texts and how-to publications.

Craft beer, particularly stouts and malt forward beers. Not a huge IPA fan.

I wear an XL shirt and wear stocking caps in the winter.

Tools, obviously. Love me some vintage American iron.

Stuff I don't care for:

I don't like coffee, I don't wear ball caps.

I collect vintage tape measures.
I am from Wisconsin and like tools made there. Morgan Milwaukee Vise LOL?
I also collect Kraueter and Dunlap tools.
Not much of a sports fan (Except Packers and Saints)
Don't need any more hats or t-shirts.

I gave hints back in the 2014 hint thread.

I'm not fussy. Porsche and VW owner. Design and engineering by trade. I like all foods except for sauerkraut. LOLZ but true. Libations are fine. Shirt size XL. I'm up for anything tools as always. And BTW The First rule of SS Club is that there is no such thing as a "bad gift" or "whining" in SS Club. Hahaha. :) Ya get what "Lady Luck" sends ya.

I didn't know this thread was here! I love all things vintage Craftsman! Beyond that high quality tools, since I don't have any (LOL). Beyond that anything funky and vintage - I have a tiny tiny shop space so less is more!

I would enjoy really anything cool from your hometown, or something with a background.

I camp in my Airstream whenever possible. I also am responsible for a space exploration educational program. Anything rocketry or aviation would be great.

Looking a my old posts will tell my story! Not a hat wearer, shirts are xxl.

Recently fell in love with Snap On after buying my first proper box. Anything Knipex is a welcome addition to my life. It's Phoenix, so I don't own/need any sweaters or heavy socks/gloves. Recently got a 'real' air compressor so I'm trying to get decent mechanics air tools. About to start an engine swap in my '93 Toyota MR2. Also love Jeeps and Smith and Wesson [emoji3]. I'm also learning to tig weld. Love to read military history. Collect license plates. Went to University of Texas, love their sports teams, NY Yankees dyed in wool fan. Love Toronto Maple Leafs, Arizona Coyotes, Dallas Cowboys.

Old garage memorabilia is what I like. Old signs (replicas even).I never have enough pliers. Am slowly getting into woodworking. Enjoy old things(like me, I'm 58). I don't wear caps or hats. Like I said last year. If Don Long gets my name, I'd love an old gas pump.:willy_nil I own a old Oldsmobile and am more into GMs than other makes. But it doesn't matter when it comes to displaying vintage auto memorabilia. I do enjoy gardening in the summer. I maintain flower beds as well as vegetable beds. I have a small collection of old vises. I hope this is of some help. But don't worry, because whatever I get, I'll be thankful and gracious. Even if it is a hat.

And 930dreamer, I wouldn't have a problem with habanero tequila.:lol_hitti

Well, here goes nothing...

I'm a mechanical engineer by day and a DIYer by night. Growing up, I've always had an interest in working on cars, but that has shifted over the past 4 years since I bought my house. I've been doing renovations in there since buying it, but have finally turned my attention to the garage over the last 6 months. That work is wrapping up now finally, and I am focusing on the finer details now like organization/decorating. I'm a fan of older vintage style garage memorabilia (even reproductions). I'm a Chevy/GM guy and (obviously) love tools. One gap I definitely have is my screwdriver set, its a hodgepodge of random craftsman/Stanley that I somehow ended up with. I've read good things about Wera but I know there are lots of great options out there.

After the garage is done, I am going to be taking on woodworking as my next hobby. I have a BOSCH router (no router table), table saw, and a kreg pocket hole jig but that is the extent of my woodworking tools. I'd like to add some more hand tools to that list like a hand plane, and flush cut saw.

Other interests include snowboarding, hiking, camping, mountain biking....anything outdoors really.

I will appreciate whatever my secret Santa gets me, though, so don't stress over it too much :)

I love gun stuff, knives, pretty much anything outdoors. I reload 9mm, 223, 300 blackout and play xbox one. I have many different brands of tools and like anything quality made (pretty much all my stuff is either US or German).

Ok, maybe this can help somebody out. I'm 30 years old, married with 2 children, working as a engineer. I work in the garage as a DIYer, but almost all of my tools are pro grade. Most of them German and rest local (SA) and US. Any gift from the SS's country would be most welcome.

I'll play along. I'm mostly a DIYer but get into projects over my head at times. I follow the Packers and Yankees. Just got started buying SK Tools from HJE and have pretty much all the 1/4" stuff from my wish list. Onto the 1/2" stuff now. I try to include something made from my home town or state each year and think that would be cool to get as well.

Now if my SS would only post what he wants. UGH!

Okay, I'll play along too and help out.

For starters, I'm a 22 year old college kid working toward an Agricultural Technology Management degree so anything regarding equipment has my attention. Hats, shirts (XL), signs, banners, decals, emblems will be more than great. Local dealers and companies would be awesome. I am a GM truck guy and have an old Yamaha XS400 I ride about on too. I am a heavy DIY guy so tools are always great, especially specialty/diagnostic tools, wrenches, pliers, and ratchets (even if they need a rebuild kit). Any gift would be great. After all, it is the thought that matters.

Thanks!

I'll start by saying that I'm not picky and would appreciate anything that I happen to get, no matter what it is.

That said, I'm an automotive technician. Been working in the field for only a year, and am almost finished with a degree in Automotive Technology. I like anything tool related that I could use in this field, and have no problem with duplicates so I wont even bother posting the specifics of what I have or don't have. I will say this, for the most part I just have the basic hand tools (ratchets, pliers, sockets, wrenches, extensions, etc)

I am into Pontiac's. Current one is a 1965 GTO. My daily driver is a G6 convertible or my F250. I enjoy doing body work. I drink Good Tequila, the cheap stuff gives me a headache. I have never worn a hat. I have a lot of SK and Williams tools. This will be my 3rd or 4th year doing the SS. It is always fun.
It is the thought that counts.
This info may or may not help my SS.

I'm an endangered species. (57 year-old heterosexual white male)
Don't smoke or chew, quit drinking 25 years ago.

Enjoy woodworking, do a little welding and machining. I like Knipex, Wiha Craftsman, Vintage Stanley, don't understand the fascination with SnapOn or the hatred for HF. I really don't wear logo hats, shirt size is XXL.

Something handmade, restored by you, or from your hometown would be great.

Not sure where to start....

I like all types of tools.... I prefer American made or German stuff when it comes to hand tools but I realize it's hard when talking about cordless (or corded) power tools. I'm a huge drag racing fan and have worked on a few different nitro funny car teams in the past. I am not a professional mechanic, meaning... I don't do it for a living, but I probably own just as many tools as guys who do, maybe more. I'm also into metal fabrication, welding etc. along with an occasional woodworking project here and there. I can use tools of all types.

One item that I just realized existed, but I don't own yet, and could really use is the Milwaukee power source. It's an adapter that fits onto a Milwaukee 18v lithium tool battery and allows you to run 12v accessories and also charge your cell phone via USB port. Basically, it turns your Milwaukee cordless tool batteries into a universal power supply. (I already own plenty of Milwaukee batteries)
https://www.milwaukeetool.com/accessories/batteries-and-chargers/49-24-2371

Other than the Milwaukee power supply, I can't really think of anything specific that I should be asking for. I don't wear hats, my shirt size is 3XL, I don't smoke, and I drink occasionally.

If I think of anything else I will post it later.

Merry Christmas

I'm not picky at all. I like milwaukee, gearwrench, sunnex, knipex and good ole harbor freight. I'm trying to currently fill some holes on my gearwrench wrenches. I'm a hobbyist and would really be happy with anything that may show up.

I hope it's not too late..I never saw the thread for it, but here it goes. Last year was the first time I participated in it and it's such an awesome thing to do.

I'm 23, diesel mechanic at an international dealer. I love hunting, going off road in my jeep, fast cars, anything automotive, and especially guns and everything that has to do with things that go bang. I'm pretty much set on all the basic tools,I'm a snap on *****, but can never say no to any odd or "different" tools. I drink beer and chew. I don't smoke, nor do I want anything that has naked or half naked women on them.

I'll be greatful to receive whatever gift I may get!

Edit: ah I see it was in the general tools discussion..I don't check that as often as free parking, as it was in there last year..
