Craftsman from Japan ?

I have a set of SAE combination wrenches by Craftsman that are marked Japan. Has this been discussed before or has anyone found the same surprize when they opened the package?
I'm a newcomer to the G/J site and love it learned more about SO boxes in one evening than the last 40 years.

In the 80s a OEM made stuff for Craftsman... they turn up at the flea from time to time!

Nope, We're all a bunch of ameteurs. The thought of a made in Japan Craftsman never crossed our collective minds.

Keep your eyes open and you will see Taiwan marked items as well.
