I'll try to revise when I get the chance. Enjoy!

Intro:
Hi all, I'm Kevin and I stumbled upon this site late one night last week. I recently just moved houses and had my first boy a little over a week ago. I have a huge passion in anything DIY so I have a feeling I will be spending a lot of time here in the future. Hopefully I get to contribute to this community, make some great friends and learn a ton from you all.

My First Car Garage:
Bought the house in 2010 and sold it this past August, 2015 with a baby on its way - lots of great memories. I was a little devastated but it was time to move on.
Here are some pics:

Story:
My First Garage my wife helped me build. I knew nothing about what I wanted out of it. It started out with bare minimum. I had 1 sears tool chest. $500 way more than what I wanted to spend for this garage at the time.
12375962_10104072038703623_6249310600438180451_n.jpg

I started off with no intention of turning my old garage into a complete man cave but my supportive wife encouraged me to throughout all this and built something I really appreciate and made use of.

My best friend in college taught me how to work on cars, on my birthday in my early 20s, he got me a set of craftsman tools (starter tools) in which i still use to this day to work on my cars:

I added much more tools since then:

This red light took us forever, we made sure we read up on how to paint the sharpest stripe line, then we found out we later wanted to shift it down 1 ft. haha, so much work! But I really loved it.

My Passion & Toys
I am kind of a track junkie. I've always been into cars, but after attending High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) event with my old man in December, 2011. I got really carried away with that hobby.

My Nissan 370Z
I bought my first sports car (Nissan 370z) in 2010, fully loaded with no intention of tracking.
After first session at Thunderhill, my car didn't even last 6 laps and crapped out due to overheating and oil starvation. Had to tow it home, not a great experience.

I love to take it apart and put it back together.

10322734_10102891769238093_1584262948266863499_n.jpg

And here it is years later, still trying to put time in it whenever I can. This pic was taken on my last track event at Laguna Seca keeping up with a couple of Viper ACRs:

My NB Mazda Miatas

The first Mazda Miata is a 2001 NB2 MX5. We got it for my old man to track on. It was the best bang for the buck car. Sadly, my old man got a little sideways at Sonoma Raceway and put it in the wall on Turn 4.
1234518_10102531398404133_59974817_n.jpg

After this we bought a second track Mazda Miata is a 1999 NB1 MX5 as a replacement and transferred most of the goodies for track:

You have neat toys.

The good news is that it looks like everything in your first shop, with the exception of the wall paint and epoxy floor, will look just as good in your new garage. There is something to be said for going with the best you can afford right from the start.

California?

Thank you all. I'm better with pictures than words.

I wish I have the space you guys do where you're located. I'm super excited going to a house with a driveway. My previous home has a fire lane that literally cuts off at the garage door.

Brian, I just saw your garage build. VERY NICE! I love the color of your lift. I was thinking of getting a MaxJax but I think yours is more sturdy with a cross beam underneath. I was initially thinking i can have the MaxJax because I can disassemble one of the post if I'm not using it leaving the other post there but I'm not sure if that's too practical. Then again, I've been using Jacks all my life and it's now getting really hard to lift the car.

Nice place.
How do you like the IR cordless ratchets? I have the IR 20v impact and thought about picking up a ratchet and possibly 3/8 impact. They are nicer than dragging out the air hose.

I've been using it for a long time, i really like them. Especially the low profile battery one - i has a long lever arm. I recently bought a Milwaukee M12 one to match the rest of my tools, it's much smaller hopefully i'll like it just as much.

Thanks, that was my old garage I now have a new place that I have to start over with an exception I kept all my tool chest and shelves. I miss that nook recessed space in my previous garage. I really made it possible to store 2 cars.

Thanks! Hi, I am from CA. I am still debating if I will do Epoxy or porcelain tiles this time around, but it'll be a fun project.

That's a nice setup! But I'm confused when you said you moved....so is that your old garage, or the current one?

Hi Matt,
Yes that is my old garage. I am making plans for my new one at the moment.

I have extracted most of my stuff (gladiator cabinets, bench, etc) but I'm going to make bigger plans for this next garage build.

It's been a while since I posted any update on this garage. I do not know what happened with the previous broken links of pictures but here's the latest.

I am in the middle of trying to install a sink for my garage, any help would be appreciated:

I added Total of 3x 50amp/220V and a ton of 20amp/110v from my electrical box while I had the dry wall opened.

Couple of things I'm adding right now is:
1. MaxJax Lift
2. 12K BTU Minisplit Air Condition
3. Speaker wires for a 6 speaker setup

I know this might sound crazy and a lot of people will discourage me to do so but while I have the dry walls torn out, I want to add:
1. Garage Sink (Still need to figure out the plumbing details - how to get cold/hot water and how to do drainage)
2. Shop Air Compressor Lines (Hard lines - Behind dry wall)
3. Central Vacuum System with plumbing also behind dry wall?
