How does this compare to a Miller 211 MVP? I assume it is a direct competitor?

The 211 is just a mig. The 210 mp multi process does DC lift arc TIG and stick machine. The duty cycle is about the same. The 210 is 220amps and the 211 is 230 amps I believe.

I will have to give this a good look. Sounds like a good machine. I missed out on the Miller deal last year.....

Jody gives it a nice demo on all 3 processes here. I'm going to look at them this week.

Interesting....

Anyone know what the real-world power draw is? Only have a 30A outlet at the moment.

Being inverted, it's going to be low. My dynasty 200 TIG would pull 19 amps on 220v maxed out.

The lincoln is only 20 amps more than my TIG. I can't see it pulling a big amount more.

14.7A on a 230V service, found the specs.

still only has a rated output of 200A, guess it wouldn't be much of a jump up from the 190A I have now...

just saw that.

200A/24V/25%

The problem is, I've seen it turned up to 220 amps in the video clips on MIG. 175 is max on DC TIG.

OUTPUT RANGE:

230V: 20-220 Amps DC, Max. OCV : 56

Yes, it is a 220 amp machine.

I have been meaning to stop in at the LWS and give it a run, I have to call first and set it up since they don't have one set up on 240 in the test booth, but said that they will when I am ready to test it out.

I really like the machine, but a couple things are bothering me. There is a gas solenoid for MIG, but not for TIG? Could they not have split the one into two? Or spent another 10 bucks for a TIG solenoid? I can live without the HF start, but the torch valve is a PITA.

Whats the duty cycle at 220A though, cant be much!

I'm guessing 20%. which will be the same as the miller 211.

I hate that there is no international standard for duty cycle testing. Miller even rates theirs different from hobart and they're the same company.

lincoln is different again. It really gets me mad.

The esab rebel does not have a gas solenoid for the tig either and I didn't find it a problem when I tested that one.

I was looking at it as more for stick and mig anyway I have a ac/dc tig in the shop, I need a stick machine and having a back up mig that can run on 120 would be nice as well.

I looked at these real hard when they first came out and never pulled the trigger. Besides being dual volt mig machine I would also like to play with aluminum, so I am thinking the spool gun would be a great add on.

Has anyone used this machine with the Aluminum or TIG packages?

How long will they run this offer?

I pulled the trigger on one. I hope it'll lay good beads and last a long time. I'll try to post back with my first impressions.

Where's you get it?

LWS wasn't too keen on getting me a price or ordering one for me today....

I ordered it from Lincoln's site since they gave instant 200 off. Tax and shipping it was around 1080 total. They're in Ohio, I'm in PA, so judging by their shipping estimate it should be here Friday or Saturday. They also have Free ship to store, but they're all closed by the time I'm out of work.

The first 4 minutes of this video shows Jody welding aluminum with the power mig 210.

He even welds some really thick stuff with it too.

Here is another look at the MP 210 and initial set up.

He has another video that shows setting it up for tig as well.

Really, really want something with the balls to get into some thicker steel every now and then (with proper prep). Currently using a Pro Mig 180 and the parts are holding, but would like a little more power.

Lincoln sure makes this welder's capabilities/outputs clear:

I guess everything is centered around 200A, BUT maybe, for a few minutes, it can push 220A

Pulled the trigger, will be at my lws tomorrow.

Could have saved $35 having it shipped UPS 2 day, but tryi ng to build the relationship with the LWS and will need some consumables soon, should pay off in the long term.

Make sure you check the card you used to pay for it.... They added on an extra 54.** dollars to my total for some reason.... They'll be getting a phone call tomorrow.

This. Everyone looks at percentage but never thinks to look at output for that rating.

Extra $500 for what looks to be tig torch and pedal etc?

Would it be cheaper to get it at $999 first and get tig stuff later?

Bet you its tax. I know in VT, NY and ME (3 states I've lived in) if an e-tailer has a physical location in the state you will get taxed on orders.

If not, you are supposed to pay sales tax come april. Lincoln.Com wasn't showing sales tax, but they have several distribution networks in the state.

I paid 1270.94 out the door, I'll have it tomorrow when it comes up from the other store. In 2 weeks I get $200 back.

It would have been $1033.95 to get it from the Web in time for the weekend, plus it sounds like tax would have been added.

Lincoln seems pretty tight on the price, the LWS couldn't give me a Corporate discount and we do a LOT of business with them monthly with gas and supplies for our plant.

Guys I found a tig kit available from USAweld it's include the compatible parts to add tig to the machine it is around $400 with the long cable or slightly less if you want the 12 foot

It's not Lincoln brand but it's made in USA except one adapter. The only thing to see is if the foot control normally it is a $300 Lincoln part and remains to be seen if their kit is as good as the Lincoln .

I thought maybe better to get the basic kit and add on the Tig kit for $400 since no tax on the $400 for most people.

I found out this machine cannot weld aluminum in TIG mode.

So be sure you do not need that. However you can MIG aluminum with a spool gun (or maybe don't even need one)

What's it's max amps at 100% duty cycle. My maxstar 140 str is 100 amps 100% on 240. And 80/100%/120
