Awesome, as someone who is in for too much on too small a space, I'm in to watch this one.

Awesome! I was wondering if it took awhile to gather the materials or if it all just fell together...i think it's the former. Please keep posting pics :)

The project has been on going for 3.5 years. The first craigslist item I got was 2x4's about 3 years ago and the last craigslist item was insulation last month.

First mistake was not making sure all the post were square. Somethings I needed help with and did not ask even though I had people willing to help. I also messed up on the 2ft on center wall purling it was more like 26" on center.
Makes a big difference when putting plywood.

Here is how I stored the Clear span trusses for a couple of months.

Here is how I hoisted them up. Using a pulley, rope, and anchor on the front post. It was very sketchy.
I originally ordered 4 clear span trusses and was going to go 10 feet apart on the post, but then I get a call from the guy who is shipping them and he told me that his guys can't seem to count and bundle up 5 instead of four and do I want the 5th one for 40 percent less and I allowed myself to get hustled.
I also used the trusses on the ends when I should not have. If you are planning to use clear span trusses on and enclosed building you do not need them on the ends. You just use your post for wall and roof supports. It will make framing for your end wall sheathing easier.

these trusses have some pretty sharp spots

Because of my fear of fallen I would added enough roof purlings to add a sheet of plywood and kept doing that until the deck was completed. I have no fear of heights I have jump out of helicopters and enjoy the rush.

I used OSB from home depot. Later I wished that I waited because I found a sweat deal on craigslist for regular plywood that I used as wall sheathing. I would have rather that to be used on the roof even though now osb is supposed to better than plywood.

You can also see the post are to far apart and my solution was to add a few 2x6's to the posts. that has cost me more resources and time. If your building is square you will not have to figure out how to fix stupid problems later. You will be able to plow right on through. I should have taken that more seriously.

Making modifications to the building as you acquire materials is part of the low cost build. If you would have waited until all the material was available , how much progress would have been made at this point.

Craigslist prices are WAY cheaper than ordering a complete building package I sure.

I don't know if anyone else has the same experience of getting a good deal that you are not ready for. That has happened a lot during this build. I have not finished framing the interior walls yet but I am getting the plywood for them tomorrow. I got the insulation before I was ready for it. But I could not pass up free. I rather have a great deal than no deal.

Looking at all the pictures is reminding me of all of the mistakes I made in building my garage.

Only way to learn how to walk is to fall a ton of times.

Looking at the picture of pink panther house wrap underneath the siding reminds me of when I bought it. I paid 40 bucks for 1 roll 9'x150'. I remember the craigslist seller asking me if I wanted the second roll and I said no thinking I was going to use the left over roofing under layment (which was a bad idea) and then having to go to home depot and buy a 3'x150' roll for more than I would of paid for the 9'x150'.

Here is some pictures of the pour.
The concrete guy used sono tubes (about 5 on the retaining wall side) to create a bridge affect in case the ground sinks due to my improper grade raising.

Theses pictures were taking back in April of this year. It felt weird because I been pushing by this point for about 3 and a half years to get the concrete pad poured. It still feels weird when I walk into my shop. The cool thing about it is, it is my shop.

During the building process it has gotten my blood, sweat and pee (once three of the foor walls where up before the concrete)

I started framing because I need to get the insulation out of the way to do some maintenance on 2 of my vehicles. I am the type that does not like working in a mess at home. I figured I would frame 1 and a half walls and would be done with the insulation. Boy was I wrong.

In the back those are 2 6 foot tables with the rest of the insulation piled on top. I had to stop because I was not planning on buying studs right now.
