Wow. I have the 60t 3/8" set and the 120t 1/4" set. I bought them through amazon at varying times when the prices dropped to all-time lows. I paid just over $125 and thought I did pretty OK.
Very temping to take advantage of this and see if I can try and close the $40 gap on eBay.
Definitely forwarding this to a friend who might be in need.

Anyway - if anyone is considering, pics of these sets are on page 2 of the thread ill link.. these are good sets, you likely wont find a better deal for something this nice, esp at this new price posted..
Just a quick desc.. these are complete 6 point only sets.. no skipped sizes, in both shallow and deep sockets for metric and sae.. the 3/8 set goes up to 1" in the shallow kit, which is very nice.. ratchets are good. I still took mine apart and added some lithium grease or superlube which made them even smoother.. no regrets from anyone thats purchased these sets it seems.

It looks like the 1/4" set skips 5/32. I was comparing this set to a case I already own and the shallow 5/32", 1/4" dr. 6-pt socket isn't included in this set. A member here compared these sets with a full/master GW set and found what all was missing quite some time ago.
I just ordered this set (and a few extras) from NXT yesterday for ~$10 more and another ~$10 for S/H. If they had a better reputation for their communication, I would cancel that order and pick this up but between possible concerns with NXTs process and the sketchy checkout system on tooldiscounters I think I'll just let my order ride.

The promo sets are their own SKU and I think are stocked as a set. They don't just grab the two SKUs that make up the promo.
Obviously Apex's prices to distributors/wholesalers is not what you would pay if you purchased it from their online store directly.

I have 3/8" GW ratchets with 84t and 120t, the lack of 120xp ratchets doesn't really detract from this deal.

And yes the ratchets come lubed - I just put some more inside mine after opening them to check.
I believe the eBay price is still good at $95 shipped over at the other thread - original place selling them has been $104 for a LONG time now.. honestly at $200 people would still say it was a deal.

wait a minute, the deals are different.
This one is 80550P+80330P for $119 (both 3/8 and 1/4 are 120XP)
The other website has 84 tooth 3/8 + 120 tooth 1/4.

To put things into prospective, the difference in swing arc between a 120 and 84 tooth ratchet is a little over 1 degree.. you'd have to decide if that's worth it for you, and the 120xp ratchet is a dual pawl, (dual position) not a true 120 tooth.. I don't have a 3/8" 120 to open and compare to my 84 tooth, but the pawls on my 1/4" are stacked on top of each other, so the pawl size might be thinner on the 3/8" 120xp that engage the drive on any given moment compared to the 84 tooth..
Again - I don't know this for a FACT, but something to think about if you're a person that really beats on ratchets.. I might be completely wrong about that though..
I have the 84 tooth 3/8 sets, and have no complaints.. I do kinda miss a socket retention button that's on my other ratchets, but It's not a big deal.
I don't think you can go wrong with any of these sets to be honest.. if the deal for $120 has the 120 ratchets, and you don't mind the extra $25 then go for it. Just realize your spending almost an extra 25% of the price to get them.

I ordered the two 120-tooth sets and they arrived today. I'm very impressed with the ratchets. The teeth engage very consistently (every tick feels identical, or very very nearly so), and the reversing torque is very minimal.
Both boxes say Made In Taiwan, so that's good.
Two minor complaints: one of the smallest sockets is broached slightly off center, and the blow-mold case for the 3/8" set does not hold things securely. Turn it sideways and a bunch of the metric longs fall out of their slots.

I received mine a couple days ago as well. I like the set, but some of the sockets do fall out of place in the 3/8 set, like noted above. I'll probably just glue some drawer liner to the lid to prevent that. The ratchets definitely feel very nice, only issue with mine is that the 16mm deep socket is unstamped, but that really doesn't bother me.

I swear this is the first time I've ever heard of inconsistencies with their sockets. An off center broach and an unmarked socket are indeed very minor though. To be honest, Gearwrench is the only Taiwan based company I wouldn't hesitate buying just about anything from.

I mentioned that I'm very happy with the ratchets, but I have to say, I also really like the composition of these sets:
- All sockets are 6-point. My last major socket set was from Blackhawk, and there are a bunch of 12-point sockets that I've never really needed.
- Both sets have come with a U-joint, a short extension and a long extension.
- Between the 1/4" set and the 3/8" set, there are 34 sizes of socket (with some duplication between the two sets). For those 34 sizes, only two are present in short but not long: 15/16" and 1". This makes it easier to think about what I have and what I don't have.
- The 1/4" set passes the 11/32" test.
- The fingertip ratchet in the 1/4" set is a nice bonus. I have an old fingertip ratchet with a knurled grip ring that I hardly ever use. This one has a flower-petal shape that should allow for more torque.

One the 3/8 sets I have listed in my thread, the one with the 84 tooth ratchet, you get 2 ratchets in the set. A standard length, and a stubby 3/8 as well.. 1/4" set is the 120xp as well..
