I am sure really large screwdrivers are not rare but check out these beasts that I got a few days ago. Both Wera.

In the four shot that is the largest size Craftsman Pro ( at least from that version). In the two shot the tiny one is a regular 1/4" x 4" !

My dad had a couple that weren't thick, but were very long--a couple feet.
He got them from his dad, who owned a road construction company in the '40s-early '60s.
No idea what he'd have used them for... adjusting carbs on equipment that was a long reach, maybe?
I thought about taking them when he died, but limited myself to tools I'd actually use. I've been playing with cars and hot rods for 30 years, lots of home-owner and other stuff, and I've never needed one.

I bought a set of bargain screwdrivers years ago and while they were USA made, there was nothing fancy about them. Black & orange in color with non-plated, round shafts, there was one in the set which I've used a lot for those stubborn fasteners. The handle is actually long enough for two hands, one above each other and the blade is a wide slotted design. Possibly 19-20 in length, it's really come in handy. Don't believe there's a brand name on them.
Motoretro

I won a set in a game at the parish fair of all places back in high school(mid 90's); I assumed they would be junk but it was that or stuffed animal type ****. Turns out they were made in USA and lasted until just a couple of years ago when I finally lost the last few in a move. I have no idea the brand, the only markings were the Made in USA stamp, but I beat the mess out of them and they just kept going. The largest ones were about 18" long and I used the flat head as a prybar for years.

I've got an older craftsman flat blade that's @20 inches long and the blades probably 1/2 in wide. I've used it more as a prybar than a screwdriver. I would love to find another as mine is getting kinda trashed out. but haven't seen another in years. They used to come in the bigger screwdriver sets.

Probably what we used to call hose clamp screw driver used to access the screw type hose clamps on bottom radiator connections.

I've been told the story of razzing a new mechanic at a shop, asking him to fetch a 6' screwdriver - and that the newbie in the story was ex Air Force and came up with said 6' screwdriver.

True or not, would love to be present at the delivery. ;)

The 24" small flathead come in handy all the time. If your looking for strength it's time to switch to a pry bar..

Not factory but does this count?

Found it at the local ReStore. Bought it just because.

I've got one of these too. It's very handy. I've got a couple of the 3' long S-O flat blade. It's really handy for tightening the lower radiator hose on a hot engine from the top.

Is that giant S-O Phillips real, or just a plastic mock-up?

And another one ....................... found that Wera makes a very large chisel driver as well.

Tip is 14mm wide, 2.35mm thick 250mm (10") long blade. This is a single component hard handle as opposed to the two component norm of the Chisel Driver line. It has the through handle tang and striking cap just like the rest of the 900 series.

The other one is a T20 Chisel Driver for size comparison.

Just you basic large screwdriver set from Craftsman. Probably only used that P4 once or twice. The 41588 I had to get off eBay as I think Sears stopped selling it quite some time ago. The Two-Fister (bottom) has come in useful a couple times when you really need both hands to get some torque (and don't want to use an impact).

I bought a cheap set at TSC that are about 24" long because I needed a #4 Phillips for something. They barely fit in my 26" wide toolbox.

Here's a set of Snap-On long cabinet screwdrivers (saw it on Ebay for $133, not mine), looks like the longest ones are about 21in:

I've got this one too, it was my dads, love it, hard to store, has to go sideways in the drawer, but, when I've needed it, it's been a great have!

I had a old Tech Sgt that came to me when I was stationed in Thailand and asked for a gallon of prop wash. I looked smiled and knew I got him on the joke. Headed over to to supply got a gallon of Ivory soap, went to the decal shop made a decal that my buddy worked in had him make the decal with a prop on it and bold lettering PROP WASH. Went back to the shop and present the Tech Sgt with his gallon of “PROP WASH”. His jaw dropped to the floor and then laughed at me.

My largest is a old Craftsman that also has seen better days as I used it for years. I don’t remember when I got it but it has been the best pry bar I ever used.

Not necessarily big ones, but I find long ones to be very useful at times. In particular, like the above post they are good for bottom radiator hose use.
