Since these seem elusive on here yet can be found for way better deals than their yellow family online, let's see your cordless MAC tools!

I'll start - 1/2 BWP151 Brushless Impact

attachment.php

I bought this the day an eBay coupon came out and I was about to pull the trigger on the cheapest hogring DeWalt. Got a 1 month old (and it had been listed for a few weeks) MAC impact, 2 batteries, charger and nice bag - for less than the DeWalt baretool. The boot was on me

We have the French cousin at work, same tool branded Facom, it came in a toughbox which was nice. The dealer was out of stock of DeWalt so sent this to us at the same price.

I didn't realize Facom labelled it, too. Good stuff

Interesting how they call it 18v (and how the charger has your end on it).

All I got to contribute is this picture from the Canadian DeWalt facebook page. Sorta red and the impact looks like he uses it.

My dealer is at the annual Mac Tools convention. This year its in Orlando, Florida. He said there is good deals there, so I might have a tool or two to add to this thread.

I have the 20v brushless 1/2" and 3/8" impacts and the 20v drill. Overall very happy with the tools. I found my mac guy to have a lot of wiggle room on the prices and was to get them for a lot less than list price. The drill I mean to and overloaded it to the point it rolled smoked pretty good. Let it cool down and still works great that I keep forgetting to send it in.

I'm glad to hear Bobcat. I've been pleased with my 20v Dewalt stuff and I only bought these because I could get them cheaper than Dewalt. Also, the 4.0 batteries are a lot nicer in that they have rubber overmolding. Almost bought the brushless 3/8 but I found this one in better shape, and it's somewhat more powerful.

What were you doing to smoke it lol? I've drilled a lot of metal with my older brushed 20v dewalt without getting that bad

I think the 18v is identical to the 20v on your side of the water, it's all marketing BS I read here somewhere. I have the yellow version at home and in comparison the rubber moulded batteries make the Mac/Facom a slight improvement on the yellow gun. I must get on to my DeWalt tool truck about this one!!

Yes, you are correct - 18 nominal volts on both. Your gov't must have stricter regulations on those claims or something. Minus the charger I think our tools are completely interchangeable!

Mac also offers battery boots (which I'd like on my $$$ large Ah DeWalt batts) but they're $20 a pop (same as the tool boots). :(

Trying to drill a 4 1/2" hole with a hole saw threw 1/8" steel. Dumb on my part as not two weeks earlier I bought a 1/2" air drill for the heavy drilling jobs I come across. The 20v drill will drill a 1" hole threw 1 1/2" plate, but it is not a happy camper.

Holy smokes, yeah, I use the drill press for every hole saw in steel that I can. I've blown some pretty big ones in plastic, though :bounce:

The battery boots used to be 9.99 when I bought mine... wish I had bought more then!

DeWalt really needs to step it up and offer more boot options for their tools.

The plastic in the housings are different. The red Mac housings are more chemical resistant than the yellow Dewalt since they are geared for the auto industry rather than construction.

Agreed - it would be a good aftermarket money maker.

Was on a piece of equipment to install an improved air filtration kit so not easy to put it in a drill press.

Fair

Yes, they have a lot more rubber overmolding too, which is nice and really makes sense (you drop them no matter the industry).

Good looking set right there

Thanks and I just seen this on a local Mac dealers Facebook page. Seems they are coming out with a new mid torque impact with some fancy adjustable speed/torque settings

Looks a lot like my 3/8 gun. I've never been too interested in mid torque 1/2 -- ig if you're installing new stuff all day and don't want the weight but want 1/2 sockets or more stones than the 3/8.

I've got that one and I love it. I want to find out if I can get a replacement 3/8 anvil so I can have a high torque 3/8.

How is that impact assist treating you?

800# is insane for a 3/8 lol. 5 years ago the bulky half wasn't touching that.

I haven't used it much other than lug nuts. As for 3/8" I'm kinda OCD and just think it would be nice to have matching guns 1/2 and 3/8.
I have matching 1/2 and 3/8 air impacts.
I also have the matching 3/8 and 1/4 12v impacts.33787cbee8f1a2d4e9859856f6142c47.jpg

I understand that. MAC has good looking impacts, regardless of power source. If only I didn't have IR and Astro :bounce:

Plus, honestly, I have only used the latter b/c it's a mini impact that will fit. Cordless is just so handy.

This is interesting, I had no idea that Dewalt batteries fit Mac.. And have been looking at getting an Impact Wrench. I have a Dewalt 20v Drill with 2 - 2ah batteries. This just may be the way to go. Will the 2.o batteries be enough power for it.
Thanks for the info...

Does it come with that battery for that price? Description isn't really clear on the battery (unless I'm missing something)

Also what is the torque rating on this gun? Since it's not on Mac's site yet can't see any specs.

Edit: nvm, just saw it says tool only.

Does not come with a battery. New in opened package. 600ftlb loosening.
Awesome deal.

Batteries will physically fit and run the tools BUT they run out of power quicker and when hammering away on a stuck bolt I believe the gun might shut down because of the high load.
I run 2.0ah batteries when doing light work like lug nuts. When going after bigger suspension bolts that have 200+lb of torque I automatically load up a 4.0 or 5.0 battery.

It's exactly the same as the DeWalt DCF894 (just look at the model numbers - Dewalt is DCF894 vs MAC is MCF894). Specs may not be on Mac's site yet, but you can check the DeWalt page, as it's the exact same gun with a red case:

It doesn't, or I would have pulled the trigger. He had 2 listed a few weeks ago that sold quick; I asked if they came w/ a battery then.

Damn good deal regardless.

Mac claims 800# breakaway though, DeWalt is saying "max" of 330. Hmmm
Where do you see 800 breakaway? Max fastening torque for these guns is 330 lb/ft. The packaging shown in the eBay listing shows 600 breakaway, which is the same as the DCF894 (zoom in to see):

How would warranty on these Mac guns work for those that don't have access to the tool truck? Anyone had to deal with this? Wondering if it would be more of a hassle than the DeWalt counterpart

The DeWalt mid range is rated at 330 fastening and the Mac is 600 breakaway. The Milwaukee mid torque for comparison has 450 fastening and 600 nut busting. My guess is that the Mac would be stronger than the DeWalt

Unless something has changed recently the DeWalts are made in China while the Mac is made in the USA. The venting and front housing is slight different between the Dewalt and Mac

According to my Mac dealer, warranty work has to be sent to Ohio through the dealer. DeWalt is at your local service centre,

Its like the 3/8 drive brushless impacts the Dewalt and Mac are similar but different.

DeWalt DCF890B has 150 (fastening?) torque and the Mac MCF891 has 275 breakaway. The Mac has a 3 speed selector switch on the base of the handle and the Dewalt is a single speed
