Ordered my lift on Monday 1/31 from Metro-Lifts, Ken said it should ship on Tuesday and probably arrive on Friday. My thoughts, with the bad weather in the midwest and coming from California, no way was that going to happen.
Well to my surprise, I got a call on Friday Morning from Conway Trucking saying I could pick it up at their terminal.
WooHoo, let the festivities begin!!!

I then positioned the right post in place, but not yet drilling and installing the anchors, until I installed the top trough.
The top trough wasn't that heavy, but it was awkward, I carried it up the ladder and my son helped me position it. glad that part was over.

I then finished installing the cables and hydraulic lines and then it was on to the electrical work.
Just a tip here, when adjusting the cables, the instructions were vague on exactly how tight they were suppose to be. it just says taut
So I called Jeff at BendPak, he had given me his cell phone number in case I had any problem during the install. (how's that for customer service)and he explained that the cables should be pretty much guitar string tight. that solved that issue.

The electrical work wasn't that hard, just pay attention to the wiring diagram and you shouldn't have any problems.
I did make one change, which was to add a circuit breaker box and an additional 30 amp circuit breaker, to be used as an emergency shut off.
The reason this was done is because I have some friends with lifts and one of them had an issue with the raise switch going bad with a truck on the lift. This might be a little much, but it's what I decided to go with.

How much room did you leave from the center of the posts to the shelves you have in from of it? I'm trying to figure out the best place to locate one in my garage.

So it wasn't that hard to install, very few issues, make sure you have the skills to tackle this job, the right tools and don't be afraid to ask questions.
One other thing to pay attention to, when bleeding the cylinders, in the instructions it states to not turn the bleed screws all the way out, I went one thread to far and thought I had discovered oil, quite a gusher before I could get the screw back in.Lost about a quart of ATF, a quart goes along way on the floor.
Glad it's done, works great and Hell I'm stoked!!!!

did you pour the floor thicker under the lift area? did bend pak have any recommendations for this concern? i'm going to rough in the electrical in my new building while i'm doing the electrical. my floor, however, is already in and i didn't go deeper in that area. i will be going with a 4 post unit, though. not sure if that would make a difference. love the building. seeing your lights in action has helped me make up my mind with my ceiling. thanks!

According to Greg Smith Equipment's web site, 4" of 3000 psi concrete is all you need for a 2 post lift.

The specs. for my lift call for at least 4" at 3000 psi concrete.
Thats right out of the installation manual.
What it would be for a 4 post lift, I don't know.
It could probaly be found on the web site of the lift that you are considering.
My concrete was poured 6" deep 4000 psi and I did not pour any deeper in the area where the lift is located.

Your garage is killer. Great info. Thanks for posting. I just picked up an XPR-10AC at a great price still in the original packaging. I know I can do it but was contemplating having it professionally installed, but after reading how basic the install actuall is I am going to do it myself. I cant wait!!.

Very cool. Does the manual still state 4 gallons and 12 quarts in different places for fluid cap?

Just a heads up, Yes one place says 4 gallons, another says 12 quarts and I'm glad I bought the 5 Gallon container. because I know it took more than 4 gallaons even though I had a small spill.

Also does the snap switch for your overhead safety bar actually engage the bar enough? Mine barely tags the bar and slipped past it when I tested it.

I guess I should do something about that some day.

Mine did the same thing, I took the switch off and welded a small extention on it. works fine now.
To me it wasn't that big of a deal, I just considered it an adjustment.

I ordered the same lift two weeks ago and I'm planning out the column locations. Would you happen to know the column dimensions? I have only been able to find the base plate dimensions, which are listed as 17"x19".

Thanks, I have a couple more questions....I hate to be a pain in s but I forgot to ask what the total column height is from floor to top of column. Reason I ask is that my garage ceiling height is 12' 1/4". The lift info. says it's 12' so I mocked up a 12' column and I've a little room to spare, and I'm trying to avoid unnecessarily cutting a chaseway in my ceiling. Also, I have an '02 extended cab Silverado 2500 HD that weighs 6,600 pounds. A friend of mine who owns a shop thinks I may have stability problems with my truck on this lift; any thoughts?

I just want to make sure I've made the right choice before it's too late as they haven't delivered it yet.

Thanks:thumbup:

I have an XPR-9F and when I use it to lift my Silverados (both 1500s) I put a jack stand (got it from Ranger) at the rear of the truck to stabilize it. You will see these in use in many commericial garages. Also you should get yourself a set of rail pads. These are U shaped attachments that will cradle the trucks frame.

The lift is 12' 1"
My son has a 2010 2500 heavy duty, crew cab with a 6.0 liter engine that he puts on my lift with no problems at all.
Here is a picture of me lifting his truck.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Looks like I'm sticking with ACX. BTW, I mocked up a 2x at 145" and I can raise it without hitting the ceiling, and I've got 1/8"to spare. Hopefully the base plates won't make the too tall.
