Looking for inspiration on some color-ways for my new garage. In the past, I never gave much thought to this, but Jack's garage makes me want to pick a color scheme to stick too. It just makes the garage look so much nicer.

That said, to get this started, I'll save Jack the time and post a picture of his garage. Although, I am thinking of going with a much bolder and brighter palate.

Oh and my garage as it sits now:

Walls are very light grey, wainscoting is dark grey, floor is light grey with black chips. One of these days, HVAC duct will be painted Hemi orange.

The large rectangle over the wall cabinets is a fabric covered frame containing a foam mattress pad for sound dampening.

Am still working on mine but it will have a white ceiling. Light gray upper and darker gray lower separated by a 3" flame red stripe. Maybe a b/w checkerboard VCT floor. Will use rubber cove base molding in either a black or gray.

mine is the same as colt340's. Royal blue on the bottom and light gray on top with checkerboard wallpaper in the middle. Love the Gulf sign!

As an aside, you're seeking Gearwrench tools and have Gearwrench as your avatar, yet you have plastered all over your soon-to-be garage wall, Snap-On. Just curious as to why not Gearwrench?

[sorry, i'm ocd, so this type of stuff is always messing with my mind]

I'd go bolder.

I painted the inside of my Shop the same color as the outside metal, a light Grey and I am adding a Dark Gray stripe approx. 18" wide and starting 6' off the ground. The Dark Grey is the same color as the outside trim.

Nothing special, ... probaly kind of dull ... but its the first I every planned to a paint garage / shop interior. If later on I dont like it, move evreything away from the walls and in 2 days it will be differant.

I am also going to make the frames and doors on all of my workbenches out of Oak since I have a ton of it.

Here is mine floor is the Lowes/Rustoleum Epoxy, lower walls a medium gray, saftey red stripe, and the top is 2 shades lighter on the same paint card as the bottom. I wish it was still this clean.

This looks GREAT!

I've been leaning towards the black and blue route. Maybe I'll add a touch of orange as an homage to the Gulf livery. Oh and light gray walls (semi gloss to promote light reflection)

Same general garage theme: dark below-contrasting stripe to offset and lighter above to reflect more light. Went with more of a desert color scheme.

We (Wife helped big time) primed two coats, caulked, taped and then used exterior semi-gloss 100% latex on skip trowel finish drywall. Used Frog painter's tape for the stripe.

I saw this in another shop, and really liked it......

Dark gray on the bottom to hide the dirt, and a 3" black stripe to break it up a little.
Kind of boring compared to some of the schemes here. I'm impressed with some of the people's imagination.

Just about done painting. The workbench will eventually be the teal color as well (I like Bosch tools) and I have to finish painting the insides of the shelves which will be the dark gray.

I'm more of a monochromatic guy so I went with a few different shades of gray from very light (almost white) to darker in the cabinetry and metal trimming. The floor is speckled with more shades of gray and white (plus some glow-in-the-dark specs for fun). I used the lift, cord reels, air reel, and fire suppressors to bring primary colors in, just in case I ever wanted to change it down the road.
