.024 Welding wire?

How well do these work together?

Perfectly fine. Those two sizes are completely interchangeable.

.023 or .024 or .025 is all compatible.

Slightly confusing but they are all pretty much the same dimension and work together just fine.

I'm running 0.024 on my Hobart Handler machine and it works well with a 10 ft gun cable on thin sheet metal. It is sensitive to sharp turns and may not work well with an extended gun length.

Once you get spoiled by a 15' lead going shorter *****. I hate having the welding machine close to all the work

Yeah. Been welding with it about 20 years so just deal with it. Sometimes that means setting it on a pallet and forklifting it up to get close enough.
