Like the title says, looking for an air impact with nice trigger control.... Running an Aircat 1150 right now and it kinda drives me nuts with the trigger being basically on and off with no in-between... Want something that's little more refined with good control... Thanks!

I don't think I've ever had a variable speed impact but my snap on's do have a brake on them that stops the spinning as quickly as I let off the trigger. Don't know if that helps

Try a quality battery impact.....literally touch the trigger and you can three or four impacts on the nuts. 1/2” battery impacts can be used on 1/4” bolts as an example of the sensitivity.

1150 is well known for trigger.
Battery isn't the answer, a good air impact has far more control than a battery impact .

I didn't know the aircat 1150 was that bad in the trigger department. I thought that this was just a problem with old air tools. I don't have any trigger complaints about any air tools I own which are not 15+ years old. This includes my Snap on MG725, Snap on PH2050 and PH3050, stubby aircat gun, and stubby princess auto gun. The only two air tools I own that don't have variable trigger control are my old made in Japan Craftsman impact gun and my old Snap on air drill.

I'm perfectly happy with my IR Ti guns in terms of trigger control...they can easily go slow enough to not engage the hammering mechanism.

Same here, i find them very controllable. Overall they're the best impacts in my opinion. Not impressed by the Snap-on air impacts at all, and i've not used any others as nice as the IR titaniums.

I know that there are more powerful guns available but there are several reason why I keep going back to the classic IR321 for an impact and trigger control is one of them. Light weight is another.

Same here. I love my IR Titanium. I'm very happy with the trigger control.

I've also go a fair amount of experience with SO air impacts, while I normally love hand tools, I'm not impressed with their impacts. I highly prefer my IR.

Another vote for team IR. My 2235 can install plastic lug nut covers on GMs. Very nice and progressive trigger.

I tried one of my co workers today and one thing I noticed it seemed to spin quite a bit after letting go of the trigger, much more then my Aircat does... Felt strange that it just kept on going.... Is that normal for those impacts

X2, and to add, generally speaking, impacts are totally over used. Hits better, consistently, always ready.

Impact for 1/4 fasteners... you must be kidding.

That's normal. Once the supply of air is stipped,.via the trigger, it just spools down in its momentum. As others mentioned, snap on impacts have a brake mechanism, most electrics operate with a similar action.
