Guys, anyone know if this is a rebrand of someone? It looks close to the IR, but then again, they all look the same.

PA has them going on sale for 150 bucks.

Sorry, you've got bad info. The IR was the first and is manufactured in North Carolina. The designs are different because the knock offs had to work around some patents held by IR.

Thanks Marlin  A lot of people on the forum tend to just assume if they look the same that they are the same when it comes to tools...

Also if it looks the same it must have come from the same factory is a common one thrown around.

Just an FYI Proto doesn't actually manufacture air tools.

So now IR is the Rolex of air tools? Oh boy

If not then who is?

I would have to second the fact IR makes the best air tools out there. I have had the majority of my IR air tools for 7-9 years and have yet to see a failure. I RARELY oil them (1-2 times a month) or grease the impact.

Also owned a snap on mg35 & mg725... both of which self distructed on multiple occasions within a year.

Proto doesnt make the Mac awp050, is made by someone for them.

Milwaukee makes fantastic cordless tools (I own a wack of m12 & m18) but IR makes an outstanding cordless impact as well :)

Marlin, can you confirm the Ingersoll Rand 109XPA 3/8 Air Ratchet is the Snap On FAR7200? They seem to have identical specs and designs basically to a T.

I gotta tell the the FAR7200 is nicer than the 109xpa. I have had both and have the 109 currently and it reverses direction too easily...not all that great.

I would spend a bit more and get the IR the 2025max can be had on ebay for $150-200. I had a chance to compare the 2025 and the 2015 {3/8} version and ended up buying the 3/8 unit, it has the same power, costs less, and I prefer 3/8 impact sockets {cost less, smaller, and have smaller sizes readily available where you will most likely be using a tool like this..

I am stuck on the 3/8th impact stuff, I have the ir 216b butterfly, 2015timax impact, and the 2015max impact ratchet...

I also have a 7200far snap-on ratchet and I prefer the IR ratchet, but by far my favorite air ratchet is the sk http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EQI880/?tag=atomicindus08-20
it is tiny and has built in wobble, although it doesnt have a ton of power for breaking bolts free it does the job in most spots... I always tell people that air ratchet is one of the most underrated tools on the market, I am not sure if sk is still selling it, mine is 5 years old and still works great, I love it for interior work and body work, while under the hood it has its limitations, all of the air ratchets I have bought do...

Sorry for getting off topic.

I just got the 109 and havent noticed that yet, my Far is starting to **** the bed and sounds like a boat trolling on a lake lol The 109 is a much better deal at less then half the price, same power and better warranty IMO.

As others have mentioned they are not the same.

Thanks for clearing that up!

They don't even look remotely similar either /facepalm

Okay... There is differences but I wouldnt go that far.

Similarities: Specs are the same, sound the same, Same length, same button layout, rotational exhaust, head design is the same

Differences: handle tip is slightly different shape and thickness, and neck above exhaust has a different dimension.

Sorry for the **** picture

So, how do you like your new tool so far?
Do you know of a source for Kuani's impacting air ratchet? I wonder if PA will eventually start selling them.

It's a beast! For the 150 bucks, i would never be without one again. From now on, no more removing the rad in a subaru to get at the crank bolt.

I can't find a source for Kuani. I really hope they bring in more of their products. Solid in my book and pretty good price.
