1/2" drive impact swivel sockets?

I'm in the market for some 1/2" drive impact swivel sockets. Something like 15/16" throught 1 1/4". I checked the snap-on sight & nearly had a heart attack. Anyone have a "lesser" set to recommend?

I've got a metric and standard set of SK 1/2" dr. impact swivels and they have been rock solid.

Grey pneumatic or Sunex should ease the pain somewhat. However, I have found that except for a couple of sizes, I rarely use 1/2 drive swivels. Additionally unlike 3/8 drive, if you're using 1/2 drive you probably have the space for a shallow socket attached to an impact swivel joint. Buy a pinned impact swivel and you'll never fling a socket across the floor.

Grey Pneumatic that is what I have for swivel impact sockets. Your right truck brand ones give you a heart attack when looking at prices. I would recommend if you buy Grey sockets buy them through a dealer for warranty. I only broke one or two so far I buy them off the Matco truck.

I dunno, maybe I'm on the other side of the coin. I very rarely use 1/2" drive shallow sockets, but I use my 1/2" swivels all the time. Generally any place you can fit a shallow socket, you can fit a swivel, but the reverse isn't true. I suppose it depends on what type of work you do, heavy equipment generally has tons of room for impact swivel + socket, automotive front end work is significantly easier with the smaller footprint of swivel sockets. In fact, I don't have any1/2" drive metric shallow sockets at work, they are all in my toolbox at home.

It's different, Grey Pneumatic goes up tp 1 1/4.

Pinned impact swivels have one huge weakpoint,the pin.Pin breaks and the user's hand gets chewed up.I almost got myself injured on one which was a Snap On,pin came loose breaking in the process and my hand was in the way.Pinless is the way to go and three have them.Matco,Armstrong and Craftsman have went to this.Matco came up with this design first which they have a patent on it in 2004.So far good news,no reports of them breaking yet.A few of the Matco's have come apart due to being defective.Sunex takes a very long time on warranties for some reason.Took about 6 monthes to get a replacement.

i figured by now someone besides SO made them. when i bought my original matco set, they only went to 15/16"
i added 1" 1 1/8" 1 3/16" 1 5/16". from SO

those were the only sizes i ever needed over 15/16"
anything else i had enough room for a shallow impact and a swivel.
