I need to replace some of my 1/2 extensions. Looking for some recommendations because I am sure someone knows what brand and where to get them here.

Thanks,

If it is for impact, grab some Sunex, but if it is for chrome, non impact work, it is hard to go wrong with any of the truck brands, or Armstrong or Proto.

I have got a few cheap on Ebay and one at an estate sale. Got two SK 1/2 for 2 bucks at a pawn shop.

If money wasn't a object I would buy Snap on.

SK is what I buy

My chrome extensions are snap-on, but I've had great luck with the HF 1/2" locking impact extensions and they get hammered on with an MG725 daily.

I have never had any problem with 1/2" non-impact extensions of any brand. If I needed one I would probably get an SK.

Extensions are one thing that you can find for cheap at pawn shops, if you don't mind buying used tools. Snap On, Proto/Blackhawk, Cornwell, and many more. Mix and Match.

Try posting up a request in the Classifieds Wanted section here. Just list out the drive sizes and length's your looking for and request that people only respond if they several of the ones you're looking for to save shipping costs. That is if used tools are OK with you.

For new, it's hard to beat HF for price. I have several sets of extensions from HF, and they work fine for my occasional use.

If I could re-direct the OP's question slightly: what are the go to lengths? I had to double up some shorties for a recent job and figured that can't be right. I see kits with 3, 4, 6, 10 inches etc.

+1

If money is important and COO isn't, Northern Tool has a decent 5 piece set for $30. Includes a 3", 5" and 10" extension with a impact universal and a 1/2 to 3/8th's adapter.

Just about any brand will do for occasional use.

I've got a whole assortment of different brands that I've snagged at flea-markets and yards sales:

Wright
P&C
Gray (Canada)
KD
Thorsen USA
Craftsman
Granco USA

Find them on ebay sometime for a deal. If you buy williams, they have some that are super cheap. I found out the hard way they are Taiwan not USA. But actually are working very well and really high quality. Not as high as my Wright wobble, but very nice.....Second best. But I got them a 1/2 $4 bucks. SK's are very nice. I have found old used ones at Pawn shops for $7....don't look as nice as the new ones but they are very functional.
