would you recommend the ir 2131QT to replace the ir 231a?
My IR was bought used, and is getting old.
Sometimes it has trouble removing 22mm lugs nuts.
Would like something lighter and stronger, is the IR 2131QT be good choice to replace the old workhorse 231A?

My neighbor has a IR231 and has had to barrow my IR2131 a few times to break stuff loose.

Buying at Sears I would go with the C3 impact, works and its handy not to have to fire up the compressor etc.

I wanted an IR, have no issues with buying a quality tool used, but in SoCal a beat to death used IR was still selling for more than a new HF, and the HF is good step up in power.

I have owned all the brand including the junk. I try all the air tools when I buy them. Sioux makes the best air tools bar none. They are used in industry and are the will take more use than any other took I know. Chicago air tools are well known for being one of the top brands. With so many other tools flooding the market the past 40 years they get over looked by those who have not used them.

If the HF one is holding up then I would say go with it for the money. I have never bought a new air tool other than spray guns. I will not sell a CP or Sioux when I get one. I give them to my sons.

Just my 3 cents worth.

Does Sioux have good product support? I am looking at some older and discontinued models, and for some there is very little info available.

The lowes Kobalt 500 foot lbs impact, is pretty dang good. Its $79.99 and i used the HD $50 of $100 coupon. Works well but doesn't have much speed control its either on or off. But i use mine at work a lot and its awesome.

Oh and it has a 3 year warranty, even snappy can't beat that...

I have a Kobalt as well. I agree the power is good. But the HF Earthquake is cheaper w/ coupon and it has more power.
