You did post it but it is in General Garage Discussion 🙂. My answer is there but I’ll post it here too. It can come in handy but if you need that much leverage a breaker bar or impact might be better. Still good to have one. The biggest 1/2 ratchet I have is 30 inches because I got it at the pawn shop for $50 regular $310 off the truck.

More often than you might think. I only own one, picked it up on a deal with it’s 3/8 and 1/4 cousins. Didn’t know how useful it would be, but as it turns out, quite useful.

Not always needed for automotive work, but a good thing to grab if I’m working away from base - kind of one tool does all. Use it a lot on general work, winding big coach screws into wood, brick or concrete.

Used mine only this week fitting a bench to a wall.

I use mine all the time. Its in my cart and grab it 90% of the time unless I'm doing something tedious or big fastener with low torque then I go to the big box and get my smaller one

went out and checked the handle length of my current 1/2" ratchet and it is 17.5" long and I have a 24" breaker bar and impact wrench so probably really not needed but always nice to have a new tool. like clamps you can never have too many thanks

I use my long handle 24" ratchet more than any of my 1/2" ratchets. Second most used 1/2" ratchet is my SK 42470, usually after I break a bolt loose or bolts that aren't tight.

I've had the Gearwrench 24" for over two years and haven't used it. I've had the 26" Mac for a year and used it once. I also have the SK 18" round head flex. I haven't used it either. They are just too long for anything I've come across yet. I do use my old Mac 15" fixed head and the 15" SK LP90 flex all the time though.

i'd consider it a specialized tool. i bought a ratcheting breaker bar which is a cheap version of what you are talking about because I wanted to be able to turn engines over little by little by hand with the tight space you have in front of the crank bolt while the engine is in the car so can find top dead center for leak down tests. but for most things i'm using either a 12" ratchet or a big breaker bar.
