That’s the way I’d go. Just wait for a good deal on one of those. A broken in Dual 80 ratchet in 1/2” drive is extremely nice to use.

This is terrible advice, nobody stops at one dual 80 ratchet.

Well I'm at 1 and I think that's probably gonna be it for me...didnt even have a need for it, but a deal fell into my lap on a 2016 SLL80A. It is a very nice ratchet, provided head isn't packed solid with grease...

I don't see me getting more unless I find a lot of screaming deals, and I'm not *that* lucky.

Awesome ratchet right there, and it doubles as a breaker bar because of its 2 foot handle length. As long as you got the clearance to swing it, that is!

The first few times I used it were with household stuff but big...like with adapter to 3/4 and 3/4 sockets. It's now at work, mostly wearing 1-1/16" and 7/8" 6 pt deep sockets, followed by Wright and Proto 1/2 dr hex bit sockets 1/4" thru 3/4"

I also keep a Proto 5450XLBL at work, it is a tank of a ratchet, sometimes Snap-on is too big although not usually an issue, but the Snappy is heavy...lol. And I do like these XL rats, plus they're sealed, and more affordable USA option.

I also have a 5250XL in chrome, and an Armstrong 1/4 locking flex 60t.

Tekton do some 72T 24-Inch 1/2 and 3/8 Drive ratchets as well never tried them my self but they're cheap.

I'm waiting for toolsdelivered to get the M-52EHFA, back in stock before I place my order. I got the SB-52EHLA, M-15A and a B-70 in my cart but the M-52EHFA is out of stock and I don't want to do 2 different shipments since it's about $15 per order no matter what is in the cart.
Mulling over throwing a B-52A in too but I need more 3/8 round head ratchets like I need holes in my head.

The chrome version (S-52EHLA) is cheaper, unless you really want black.

Maybe, but it's something different than all the chrome I already have and saving a few bucks doesn't hurt . I can't say since I don't own anything but impacts with the finish, but I imagine the black oxide would be a bit more porous and give some better grip which would be nice for a long handle 1/2
Is the williams black finish particularly bad or is it just a preference for looks sort of deal?

And sorry to the OP if we are derailing his thread with somewhat off topic stuff.

The black will look sharp and provide a better grip in oily environments. I was just saying that $6.00 is a pretty good deal for a chrome plating job.

COO is a factor, but not a deal breaker. I own and like Tekton. However, Tekton's long handled ratchet may be too long at 24". I really dont want to spend $40-50 on a new tool and then run it under a chop saw lol.

It is well worth the cost...I paid $ 37.35 for mine, in December of 2015...It's available from Amazon for $ 33.59...

I also have the 18" 3/8" drive ratchet, and it's the same deal...

Tekton's warranty is the best one going "If you break it...Take a photo of it...EMail it to us...And...We'll send you a new one..."
