1/2" or 3/4" Impact?

You'd be keeping the better impact out of your house. I had new 2135timax, 2135qtimax, Aircat 1100k, and the HF Earthquake. The HF was by far more powerful than the IR 2135's. Leaps and bounds. It was on par with the Aircat but under half the cost.

Oh well, I already ordered 2135QTIMAX for $218.

I need it for tires anyway, but if a combo of it and cheater doesn't work on the brushhog, I will consider a Harbor Freight 3/4".

I just talked to another guy that couldn't budge his with a 3/4" impact.

He ended up cutting the bolt heads off with a grinder.

I tried to rebuild my dad's Kubota/Land Price finish mower last year. No way with my old 2135, albeit before I redid the air hoses in the shop... but with copious help from the Victor wrench. I ended up letting them cool and just greasing the **** out of them.

I've got a 3/4" 2145 now, maybe I'll try my hand at it again this year.

Why not find someone willing to lend you a 3/4" gun if (when...) you need it? Granted I'm kinda in Rustland (MD) but most shops have one, and many are pretty old and beat since they're not daily tools if you're not doing medium duty trucks. Hell, I only got the 2145 because I got tired of seeing it at the pawn shop, and actually got a really good deal on it from them, for once.

I have personal rule of never, ever borrowing tools. It probably came about because I loathe loaning tools.

It is seldom that I have broken that rule - I think I borrowed some extra jack stands a few years ago.

Even if I have to use the air compressor at my in-laws shop, I won't use any of their air tools or hand tools.

That is just the way I am and I am getting too old to change.

Well, far be it from me to discourage buying awesomely fun, expensive, seldom-needed tools!

But perhaps consider loading up (1) mower deck and (6) beers, and having someone with a capable gun bust it off for you?

Surprise! I sprayed the nuts with some Kroil, rattled on them with the 2135 a while, almost gave up, and then - success!

Good luck on those bolts. Every time I do it I have to break out the 3/4 drive and a cheater pipe. I also have the same impact. This thread reminds me it time to sharpen mine again. Thanks for the reminder.

By the way go plenty of the never seize. You will thank yourself later. That being said you probably did that last year.

Holy jeebus you must have lost a decent amount of power with those adapters and extensions. As long as the bolt is out, I guess you're good to go.

LoL that picture makes it look like the 2115 3/8" version...so tiny.

Also, remember, every extension/adapter you add eats some of your torque.

The extension had to be there to reach through the access hole.

I would have gladly done without the 1/2"-3/4" adapter, but all of my larger sockets are 3/4".

You lost a lot of torque through 2 extensions...I was wondering why you had almost given up until I saw the pic!

I have the 2135qtimax & 2135qtimax2....they are extremely powerful impacts.
