My local store does too. I bought every piece they had! It is normally about $13/each.

Gladiator Track is da bomb. These are some of my projects...Ive pretty much Lowes BOGO, craigslisted or searsoutlet everything, even the Gearboxes caddies, shelves and wire baskets. It takes time but fun hunting deals, and worth the $$$ saved.

Hey Matti where are the braces on the top shelf? I see you ran short on the end caps. I have to go to Sears for the end caps Lowes never stocks them here.

Hi there,

The top shelf is the solid shelf and does not need the braces like the gear loft shelf. I bought the solid shelf at Sears on clearance for $20. Regularly about $50+ I bought the Gear Loft shelf on sale at Lowes for $42.

Solid shelf:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00959448000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

Gear Loft Shelf:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00910207000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2

The solid shelf is only 12 (?) inches deep; The gear Loft shelf is a lot deeper at 20 inches and requires another track for the braces. Because it is so deep I decided to use it as a light duty workspace for gardening materials. It is rated at 100lbs.

I need to buy end caps; its hard to justify buying them at full price so I am waiting for a real good sale. The cheapest I ever saw them was at Sears on sale for 6.99 (30% off). When that sale comes up again I think I need 3-4 packages.

Happy Garage Planning,

Matt

I bought 10 tracks for the 20" shelf and used 8 over the garage doors for storage. I bought one shelf at Lowes full price $57.00. I need 3 more so I am waiting for them to go on sale. I put them up yesterday, the wife hasn't noticed yet.

Funny; Im working on a row of 20 inch shelves too. I have been storing them a little bit at a time so my wife doesnt notice such a big purchase. $40 here, $40 there.... I have 2 stored right now...2 more to buy!

BTW Jerseywild, how much clearance do you have between shelf and ceiling? I am getting 22 or 23 inches max, enough for some standard plastic storage boxes and a few inches to spare.

I have 19" to the ceiling. I could go about 2" lower but that gives me plenty of room for the rubbermaid storage totes that I am using. My garage is 24' wide but only 21' deep so I do have to pull the car out to access the storage but it was hust wasted space before.
