wrenchr, isn't the G the date code? I have some old sockets that are G series which is either 1944 or 45-----E being the other code.
I picked up a S71 recently and was surprised how comfortable it was to use. It looks big and clunky but has a more comfortable grip than some round handled ratchets imo.

anyone know any dates on this ratchet, I picked one up just like it today at the flea market. I was also really surprised at the comfort of this old ratchet. Oh by the way this was my first ever snap on purchase, I hope I haven't started something I will regret.
