1/2" torque adapter set?

I have been buying tools for a new job and have been looking for a set of sae and a set of metric box end torque adapters that go larger than the 3/8" drive sets. They all seem to stop at 7/8" and 19mm, I would like to find some that went a few sizes higher, and in 1/2" drive if possible. I attached a pic of a proto 3/8" drive set. My other options would be to make 2 whole sets out of some cheap wrench sets and some cheap crowsfoot sets by cutting and tig welding. Or I could buy the 3/8" drive sets and make the few larger sizes in 1/2" drive doing the same cutting/welding. I just thought I would check to see if anyone knew of some larger sets before I made the decision.

I didn't realize these were such a unique tool, they only seem to be made in 3/8" drive (no 1/4" either that I could find). I used some that a co-worker had, that had no name markings on them. They were perfect for the job and seemed nicer than crowsfoot. I have to do the same job coming up in a few weeks and this time the co-worker wont be around, I would like to have a set for myself. I also have a job sitting on my bench at work and could use one in 24mm so I know they will get used quite a bit.

I have a Snap-on 5/8" on in 1/2" drive. I bought it to torque a manifold on a tractor. There was no other way without the torque adapter. I bought mine off Ebay and I don't remember the price. Didn't really matter because it made the job a lot easier.

Omg, I join you in this crusade. They are not to be found, unless you want to buy interchangeable head bs, and then pay a premium for each thru snap on. I just want a 19, 21, 22, and 24mm in 1/2" drive. Especially when one has to do control arms on euro bs, why are these not available, from anyone!?

Snap-on does sell larger sizes in 1/2" drive. It seems their part numbers go up by 20 for each size increase. Their online catalog seems to be down right now, so I can't tell you what they cost or look them up and see if they make a good selection of metric sizes as well. The ones I know exist are in bold, the part numbers not in bold were filled in by adding or subtracting 20 from the part numbers I do know.-

SRDH321= 1"
SRDH341= 1-1/16"
SRDH361= 1-1/8"

SRDH381= 1-3/16"
SRDH401= 1-1/4"
SRDH421= 1-5/16"
SRDH441= 1-3/8"

A lot of times the metric versions just have an "M" added to the end of the letter sequence, so the metric equivalents might be SRDHM...

I forgot to mention, be careful when buying some if you decide to go with Snap-on. They make 6pt and spline versions too, so make sure you are getting a 12pt adapter if that's what you want.

I did more searching last night and did find the snap on offerings in those sae sizes, but not in metric. For what snap on wants for those ($50-$70 each), I think I will be making my own sets. The proto 3/8" set is around $150 each, and just the snap on extras would be like another $500. I can make the extras for more like $150.

I will make:

sae: 15/16", 1", 1-1/8", 1-3/16", 1-1/4"

metric: 19mm, 21mm, 22mm, 24mm

If it helps at all, the 3/4" size you would be getting with the Proto SAE set is the equivalent of 19.05mm when converted to metric. Functionally exactly the same as 19mm, so you probably wouldn't need to make yourself a 19mm.

What's wrong with an interchangeable head torque wrench? I have several of them with all of the appropriate wrench adapters. At least with these you don't need to do mathematical exercises.

Does SO add a "1" suffix to indicate > 1" and < 2" sizing on these? Or something else.

At first glance, I'd have thought the +20 is really +2 for +1/16" like their combo wrenches, but I don't know explicitly what this "1" at the end means.

Because, in my experience, the "torque" part of the torque adapter is irrelevant. It's more about reaching into odd areas. Torque adapter and flex head ratchets can get in some wild areas.
