What do you guys store in a drawer this size? I have two on 24x24x1-3/4 drawers I was using for wrenches but it just isn't practical for the larger sizes 1 inch and up etc. I'd like to move them down to a large depth drawer but I can't figure out what I would put in the smaller drawers.

What do you guys store in ones this small?

I have regular combination wrenches and ratcheting combination wrenches in my small drawers. I have metric in one drawer and standard in the other. I kept my big wrenches in my bottom big drawer until last night but I just have too many tools for my small box. So I moved them and other tools to a hand carry box that wasn't being used. If I didn't keep the regular wrenches in the small drawers I'd keep screw drivers in one and pliers in the other.

I too have struggled with this concept. The new box I bought in the summer (VRB 4211 by International) only has one real shallow drawer in it, which is currently used for screwdrivers and a row or two of hex/torx 3/8 drive sockets on rails. That is about the best that I have come up with thus far for that drawer. I have a series of 4 shallow drawers in my other craftsman stack, that still house wrenches. I'm a DIYer so I kept things simple and familiar when it came to wrenches, top is metric combos, followed by metric ratcheting combos and flex heads, then the following two drawers were SAE. everything is laid out nicely in this fashion for what I have so why fix what isn't broken? Largest wrench in my set is 1 1/8". If I were to buy a few of the sizes not included in the sets, I would be facing having to move them, but I try only to buy as needed unless a great deal comes along.

Measuring tools. Squares, mikes, stuff like that. Pretty much anything with a screwdriver handle, including obviously screwdrivers, but also nutdrivers, hex/ball-hex drivers, picks, pick up tools, marking knives, awls.

I don't have 100 pairs of pliers like some people, so I have mine laying flat in the shallow drawer of my work box..

Thanks guys,

I picked up a screwdriver organizer today, and I think I will do a switch of both my screwdrivers up, and then see about maybe getting my pliers etc. up beside them.

Like others, I like to have my pliers and screwdrivers laid out in a shallow drawer. They're also good for ratchets and extensions, vise grips, shallow trays with punches and chisels.

Shallow drawers are great for anything you want to lay out so you can easily see and grab the tool you need.

I have all my punches and chisels laid out in a drawer that size. The plastic trays for my brass sets fit as well.

Good to set a section aside for junk too..
Razor blades, scrapers, picks, makeshift tools, pin vises, tiny clamps, x-acto stuff, baby Maglite, screw extractors, baby nut drivers, tiny screw drivers, paint can opener, little bottle of locktite, tweezers etc.
