The yellow boarder said "Strong, like crushing walnuts with bare hands", I noticed the phrase changes everytime I click on it though. What did you mean, the fitting size?:headscrat

Are they talking about the threads on the manifold where the hoses thread onto, or are they talking about the threads on the hoses themselves?

My last post is incorrect. The red and blue gizmos are called couplers at Yellow Jacket. I have their catalog and two of their charging sets - I'll see if I can find the answer tomorrow.

They are referencing the fitting size on the end of the hoses. Acme is a type of thread with square edges. The vaccum or "yellow" line of 134a gauge manifolds has a 1/4" Acme threaded female end.

134a manifolds use a snap ball coupler like an air chuck to connect with the system that is being serviced.

The hose going to the tank/vacuum pump.

They are referring to the size/type of the hose fittings. The "R-12/22/134a" stands for the pressure/temperature scale, printed on the face of the gauges.

Thank you all for the answers ... I appreciate the help. :)
