Oh I’m sure there both real good but sometimes they got stuff in both lines and then it’s confusing which one to get like spark plug sockets.

I kind of want to get some good ones of those and the koken look cool esp the ones with built in mini extensions but when I looked I got confused because I think they got regular and zeal and idk which is better for this use and also everything was written in Japanese which I don’t speak 😂

I've got the Z series spark plug sockets, those are worth it 👍

I like the knurling on the regular line of extensions better than the Z though

I have a mixture of Regular/Z series/Extra sockets (Extra pre-date Z series, but same idea)

I have a couple of ratchets in Z series, 72 flex heads (very nice/compact/low backdrag)

Try look at Ko-ken USA/Palmac/UK Tools Ltd/Mister Worker for better descriptions

Thanks man I got some 3/8 zeals that I picked up off Amazon when they had a sweet sale. Honestly I don’t love them they are basically the same size as snap on shallow sockets maybe 1mm shorter on the smaller end.

I hear good things about the ratchets but the YouTube’s I saw say the lever is backwards and that would bother me. There’s no way to modify it so it levers the right way is there?

@2ndGearRubber also said he likes the koken extension knurling. Good to know that’s the regular line and not the zeal.

The ratchet switch thing doesn't bother me in the slightest, never given it a second thought 😉

i don’t own anything like these and was thinking about them the other day because I had to put in some nuts in a spot I couldn’t read my hand too good
I heard stories of people putting a dab of grease in the socket to hold the nut. I myself have used a little bit of masking or electrical tape to increase the friction in the socket to hold the nut.

I don't run into problems often enough to worry

I used some blue painter tape last week and when I went to remove the tool, the socket stayed stuck to the nut and I had a bad time

American Mechanics - "No this a travesty, it goes against all that is holy!!!"

British Mechanics - "oh look, Japan does it the opposite way to America, I'll put the kettle on" 😂
What we need is Lefty Tighty, at least aside from Chrysler lug nuts.

Looking to add a set of 1/4" dr magnetic sockets. What works well?

I see the Sunex 1831 set. Snap-On appears to sell singles, but as usual, curious if they're worth the premium.
You know, just a thought.

There's a fair number of magnetic nutsetters out there. A person could probably use these on 1/4 hex extensions, any of a number of small 1/4 hex ratchets, screwdriver-style handles, and impact drivers.

It wouldn't be super heavy duty, but this stuff can be really cheap.

I have the Matco ADV in metric, deep and shallow which no issues with the magnets. Found out Sunex switched to China for the impact socket for production
