Trying to fill my hansen tray...

Not having any luck finding a deep 5/8 socket in 1/4 drive, preferably 6 point.

I can't find one on anyone's website, who makes them?!

Thanks!

thanks biggie, but on the website they only show the shallow. Do you have a part number or something I could ask for?

Blue point
And you better have some nice ratchets to break 5/8 nuts loose with 1/4 drive.

Hah! I don't really plan to grab a 1/4 ratchet for a 5/8 nut, but can't stand looking an empty slot... I just have a little touch of O.C.D.

I even considered just cutting off the end of the tray...

Just sneak in a 3/8" drive 5/8" deep socket on the socket tray and nobody but you will know. That's what I did because I would never attempt to use a socket that size in 1/4" drive. If you try it, you will be breaking 1/4" drive ratchets & breaker bars in record breaking fashion!

I had the exact same problem, and since I feel your pain I'll give you the Blue Point that I found. BLPLS1458

I looked EVERYWHERE until I found that one!

BTW, my Hansens are 100% full with impact and chrome for all 3 rives if you need any other part #s.

Thanks Buckgnarly, Blue Point ordered! Chrome should be full when the stuff I ordered today arrives! I may hit you up later when I get to work on my impacts!

Blue Point ordered!

That's what I used to fill both shallow and deep pegs of the 5 /8", 1/4" drive. I pais a whoe $7.00 for both from my SO dealer.

Here's some pictures of them compared to Armstrongs that are 15mm.

I use the larger sizes around the house more than I thought I would. I use them with a Matco 8" ratchet. On cars and larger projects I'll use the 3/8" or even 1/2" drives on rusty fastners.

Earl I just noticed in your sig line that you must think Cornwell doesn't make anything, they do resale alot of the stuff they sale (so does every truck) but they absolutely manufacture in their own plants ratchets, sockets, wrenches, punches, chisels and pry bars. You are correct about Matco.

There I fixed it. I was speaking in generalities originally. I just got sick of folks pointing out how Cornwell does not make this or Matco does not make that when another person was just saying for simplicity that "the impact Matco makes is......" or "the service cart Cornwell makes is better because...." even though they dont actually "make" said items they just retail them.

It is nice to preempt the nitpickers a bit so the forum can stay just a little bit cleaner.

I sawed the 15mm off of my hansen rails. This saves space in my toolbox, saves money on sockets I will never use, and it saves me from going insane due to unused pegs!

Seeing as how these type of threads keep popping up concerning filling up HANSON trays I will try again:

The Question:

Has anyone ever found any "MFG" that makes the following size sockets.

1/4" drive 12 point standard sae: 5/8"

1/4" drive 12 point deep sae: 5/8"

:confused::confused::confused:
