Anyone know of a good fairly cheap 1/4" drive impact socket set?

I'm looking for one to use with my 12v Bosch impact driver when assembling things around the house etc. I may also use it with my 18v Dewalt occasionally. I could use chrome, but I'm worried it might explode in my face.

Thanks

I second the vote for grey pneumatic......i have the 1/4 set with everything. Metric and standard in short, deep, and short swivels. Nice set. I paid around 250 For it. I have used them even on my 1/2 gun, with a light finger of course.

I have a hard time imagining any 1/4 drive impact driver being powerful enough to blow up any kind of socket.

:lol_hitti

My local cornwell truck has a boatload of 1/4 impact sockets. If you have a local cornwell truck hit him up. The only problem is im looking through the catalog and don't see a master 1/4 impact socket you have to piece together stuff.

Btw I have the snap on general service set the one with deep shallow standard metric. So far they have all remained in one piece...so far...

Sunnex, GP and Gearwrench all make super master kits. Personally I never saw a point for 1/4" impacts, you are not going to break a chrome socket witha 12v impact. This is comimg from a guy who will use chrome sockets on any size impact.

these are the only 1/4'' impacts that I have. Good but not cheap. Use them a lot.

I agree. The worst I ever did was break the 1/4" hex to square adaptor using my old Rigid 14V impact. This was when it was new and the battery was still fresh though...

Thanks guys for all the replies. The GP's look pretty sweet and thats a pretty complete set also. Sunex would be a good choice too and I'll have to look into it as $84 bucks is good.

I agree its not likely since 1/4" drive impacts aren't as powerful. The thing that gets me is the fact that 1/4" chromes are a lot thinner than 3/8" or 1/2".

Just use chrome.

I dont think there is any 1/4 impact out there that will explode a chrome socket.

I didn't see the need to buy complete sets of 1/4 impact sockets, & in another thread the OP called me a troll for questioning it. Their argument goes like this, paraphrased "they sell them, so we need them". LOL
Just b/c they sell stuff doesn't mean we have to buy them, right? Case in point, How many percent of the millions of robo-grip pliers are being used. sheesh , Maybe if youre in a production environment I can see using them , but not DIY / homeowners. Use a pair safety glasses.

Me too but I only use cheap swap meet finds. It does eventually start to show wear on the drive end corners though.

You must be pissed to have gone back 5 years to drag this out of the gutter. Might I suggest some decaf with your next order of 1/4" impacts. ;)

I have just used chrome because I have extras and could easily replace them, but had no problem. Never had a need to use 1/4 in a harsh way.

I see absolutely no point in 1/4" drive impact sockets. I do however see a value in 1/4" drive UNIVERSAL impact sockets due to the way that universal impact sockets work vs. chrome universal sockets.

There is as much need for 1/4" impact sockets as there is for 3/8" and 1/2" drives. You can get by with chrome on all 3 drive sizes if needed...
