1/4" drive ratchet with lubrication hole.

So I just took apart my snap-on midget 1/4 inch drive ratchet that I acquired many years ago to lube it since I've had the thing probably over 40 years and I've never done so. Proceeded to take it apart and lube it with some engine assembly lube that I use for my ratchets and then put the thing back together.
As I was tightening the screws down I noticed some oil oozing out of the top of the ratchet and lo and behold noticed a lube hole.
Like I said, I've had this thing a long time and never noticed that hole because if I had the ratchet would not have been dry inside which it was.

It's funny how you can have something for such a long time and never notice something about it, live and learn...

I thought that was an air intake valve to reduce negative air pressure when ratcheting to lower back drag and increase speed.

I ported my one for more speed.

The hole was actually made in the process of drilling the pawls ball and spring hole in the body. Usually plugged or an oil port was installed but sometimes it was left as is too. Wasn't really used to oil the ratchet, at least not normally because they typically used a thicker oil.
