1/4" Drive Stubby Ratchet Problem

I bought a 1/4" Tekton stubby ratchet about a year ago and I love the thing, EXCEPT for one thing. The quick release does not retain my Craftsman sockets and extensions. I tried disassembling it but the QR part doesn't appear serviceable. So, I blew brake cleaner through it from the end and the side around the ball..........no difference. I want to either fix this one or buy a 1/4" stubby ratchet that will hold my sockets and extensions. Any suggestions?

The GearWrench stubby ratchets have a really solid QR retention. Might be worth checking those out if you need a replacement.

Suggest you get some tekton sockets, they are prob better than the craftsman ones tbh and better warranty and will fit the tekton ratchet

Warranty out the Tekton or just return it, if it’s not compatable with other manufacturers sockets, what good is it. They don’t really have any control of their products being just a small distributor.

first check if the ball moves freely when the button is pressed. If it does, then the ratchet is not compatible with the sockets. In that case I would send it to tekton for a fix or throw it away and get a brand that works. The ratchet and socket system has been around for 100 years. There is no excuse for making a ratchet that is not compatible with other brands.
