The big bulky kind. I know Bosch , Makita and DeWalt make them. Anyone own one ? Any other brands ?
I have an air die grinder(CP) but I have to do some serious cast iron polishing with sandpaper rolls. My 3 hp compressor aint gonna cut it for several hours straight.

I have a Milwaukee, and they are BEASTS. Day and night even compared to my Snap On PT400. If you need raw power and not care about size, you will NOT be disappointed!

I have the paddle switch makita. I love the thing, can't seem to bog it down. Very nice for using carbide burrs compared to an air die grinder.

Also get a paddle switch one. I've had my makita get away and it turned right off saving me from loosing a few fingers.

I use a variable speed Makita at work for polishing parts with felt bobs and Diamond paste. Only time it had to get replaced was when it got smashed by a spinning lathe chuck. I have a new in box Dewalt single speed I picked up a few yrs ago for $20 haven't used it yet.

I have a " OLD MILWAUKEE '' the all metal one , no plastic. The thing will not die.
Depending on how you intend to use it, METABO has a nice one, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FDLB9O2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

You can even get a flexible shaft for it,

They have a larger one too,

I have METABO 4 1/2'' hand grinders [ 3 ] and they are awesome. My first one is 30 plus years old and still going. I like the variable speed model. Still debating on when to buy. I gotta check and see if Zoro has them for when they run their 30% off sale. I bought my DYNABRADE sander from them.

this one from Dewalt is good (Made by Metabo)
Spindle lock, adjustable speed, constant electronics...

this Suhner die grinder is pretty good too:
only 500 watt but with constant electronics, good for deburring and light duty tasks...

I have an industrial grade Black & Decker that's kind of a monster. It's built for two hand operation with a straight trigger grip behind the motor and a second one on the extended nose. I mostly use it with a 4 inch cutoff wheel.

I also have a smaller Dumore that's nice.
