If you feel the need a square drive cordless impact wrench you should buy a square drive impact wrench.
Otherwise use keep using hex shank socket adapters.
I find the Milwaukee shockwave the shortest adapter at a reasonable price. There are some stubby APEX ones that can also be sourced
I cant say I have seen anything else that would adapt hex to square but you easily can do the opposite and buy an adapter to go square to hex
But once again that's not without out faults either.
Check out the parts they're really not interchangeable gearcase housing, impacting assembly, drive anvil. The two tools are different total lengths.

You could probably do it buy parts to change one out but it be so much simpler just to get the sq. drive tool. And is rated for a higher torque capacity too.
Both style of tool have their place in my workshop/garage. I have all 3 models the 2452 1/4, which I really like for light assembly and 3/8 sq drive which awesomely powerful for a compact 12v tool plus the 1/4 hex for which I bought various length hex shank adapters for to reach out of the way fasteners.
I have seen the RT videos but my opinion is I feel adapter torque loss isn't that big a deal using these small tools for the general workload they are designed to do.
I have managed to strip all the bolts I have ever wanted to with a 2453 on mode 2
Just as an FYI looking at parts diagrams I do see I can change out the ball pin anvil on my older 2655b to the later hog ring style that wasn't an drive anvil option back when bought it
