Does anyone know of a 1/4 inch hex to 3/4 adaptor. I was given a gallon bucket filled with 3/4 inch drive sockets. They were clearly left outside and have alot of rust and gunk on them. I was hoping to find a way to chuck them into a drill to speed up cleaning. Does anyone have a solution?

Mine only go up one size so I dunno. I would step up with 2 or 3 adapters. Then get a decent 3/4 drive ratchet when time and money allow. Otherwise, the Harbor Freight 3/4 ratchet has been fine for me. It's just the tooth count ***** and I have not put enough torque on it yet to break the damned thing. Maybe I'm just fortunate. I dunno! I don't want to tell you to just go to Harbor Freight!

I have a 1/4 to 1/2 I could always buy a 1/2 to 3/4. Which looks like what I'll do. I have a 3/4 drive ratchet set at work. I just never needed to chuck them into a drill before.

^ I wonder how far a 3/4" drive socket would travel when it's spinning at 3450 RPM and comes unbuttoned from that set up?

He is not trying to turn anything with the socket...

He is trying to get the 3/4" drive sockets spinning so he can clean them faster.

Why the hell would he spin them to 3450 rpm to clean dirt and rust off?

That is the speed of a hand drill. :lol_hitti

I would look fir pinned adapters if the socket flying off is a concern. ( Don't think it would be with scotch bright etc wrapped around it)

What about using some 3/4" square stock, make one end round, then thread the other end and use a nyloc nut and washer if needed to hold the socket from running away.

Oops, I was thinking of a lathe, not a drill.
