I think this is the "Tuff 1" model here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/SK-S-K-TOOL...886686?hash=item54440bf31e:g:CL8AAOSw2gxYuYEY

used. $24.92 incl. shipping "buy now"

==

two other S-K 1/4" drive RHFT ratchets:

40971 - 1/4" drive RHFT w/6-1/2" long handle

40972 - 1/4" drive RHFT flex-head

I do see both of those models listed infrequently used on Ebay. Right now the only ones listed are new and they're fairly spendy.

* hopefully somebody else can confirm on that 40975 - I am not an S-K expert.

The SK 60T in 1/4 drive is better than the tuff 1 72T in 1/4 drive.

3/8 and 1/2 drives are different stories, but in 1/4, the SK 60T ratchet is still one of the best available including compared to Snap On. I like the Armstrong/Matco 88T in 1/4 drive the best, but the SK is second on my list.

Welcome to the GJ! Just to let you know, Imgur doesn't work here (something with the classifieds section). Switch over to Photobucket (or whatever else is out there now) if you'd like your pictures to be seen.

Also, is your "handle" based off of Sunn O)))?

Thanks! I'll swap them over to PB right now. As for the handle, yeah, Volvo Mechanic now, but in earlier years I did electronic/amp/guitar repair. Just so happened to own 15-20 different Sunn amps, as well. :)

And now I've learned something new. There's a band that goes by "Sunn O)))" that took their name from Sunn Amplifiers. I knew of the band, not the amps.:rocker:

Not much for fine teeth, but for durability I'd have to say the old Thorsen open gear ratchets were right up there. Small profile head, too.
You can usually get them for decent prices on ebay and the classifieds here, but - if not - I believe Wright still makes one like that.

I also have an SK 40970 and love it. It's 60 teeth like my old Napa ratchets (my favorite feel) and just glides when I use it.

Finally, I was getting ready to update all my ratchets when I saw SK will be offering a pear head soon.

Patiently waiting...

Give your C'man RP's to some deserving person who is willing to get them rebuilt, which they do free at many Sears stores. Or send them to me.

Bill

You can all rest easy. I cleaned and relubed both ratchets tonight and they are working much better now. The newer ratchet is a 36 tooth quick release while the older is a 24 tooth. The newer ratchet had a little sliding ball mechanism that was tricky to get back together.

I love my Bahco 6950, basically a Snap-on T72 rebrand with comfort grip for 1/3 the price!
