Very nice makeover, and it looks like those can lights provide a lot of light. How many did you use and how far apart did you space them?

Also, noticed you're in Landenburg....beautiful area down there.

Thanks for the compliments! No real updates. I've just been using the garage more now for projects here and there. And, having all my tools and the cleaning supplies organized up here in the garage makes it so much easier.

Mini- Fridge... Father's Day present!

Toolboxes... just my top and middle chests. I still have to get the bottom roll cabinet from my dads shop.

Most excellent on the mini fridge...nice to have a cool, uh..er..."beverage" on a hot summer day.

Going back through the thread, was this your grandfather's former house? If you're a young guy, you've done a lot of very nice work. Big congrats.

Thanks....

Yep... this was my grandfathers house.

Weird little piece of info:

My grandfather broke ground on this house on October 4, 1960 and my wife and I signed the papers on it October 4, 2006. It was not done on purpose though. We were sitting around the table signing the paperwork for the closing, and my aunts had this old b/w pic of the ground being broke on the house. On the back of the photo it said "Oct. 4, 1960". My dad and I looked at each other, and were like "Hey, thats today!".

Cheers on the amazing makeover. It looks like you planned this out for a long time. I hope everyone like it during the party. Be sure to update up with your new project.

The new garage door is a great improvement over the old one. I like what you did in front of the porch, much better than before.

Nice work, it nicely shows that single car garages don't have to be a mess when space is used efficiently.

Nice job on the makeover. It is simple and functional. I'll hazard a guess that this will become the wife's garage when the "shop" comes into existence. Well done!

bigblue02hd...are you stalking me from our truck forums! I have been on this site for a couple months now learning as much as I can for my garage, I just had my concrete poured in my 40x60 so my truck can finally be garage kept. Next up for me is interior walls then electric and onto insulation! I watched some of your built on our truck sites so its nice to see it coming together for you!

Really a nice job bigblue. Nicely done. I know it's temporary, but I can help but wonder it the particle board cabinet under your tool box (top/mid) is stable and strong enough to hold it. I noticed the red and yellow plastic push car/cab for a small child in one of your pics. I'd hate for them to bump or upend that as it's probably very top heavy.

Thanks for the replies everyone!!!

Yeah, this will become the wifes parking spot once I get my shop/garage built.

Rick-- good to hear from you, and that your shop is moving forward. I wish I had the money to be breaking ground on mine.... but in due time!!!

AQR- Thanks for the advice. I agree I wouldn't have put the boxes on that if I felt it was unstable in anyway to hurt the kids. They aren't in the garage very much and when they are I'm in there with them just to get their toys out so they can play outside. Originally I had the toolbox on top of sawhorses with plywood. But, I needed the sawhorses for another project so I set them on that base cabinet.
