this is nothing compared to most people here but...

Today i started off with the typical boring garage. With the dings from the previous owner (apparently they usually get out of their car enthusiastically) hitting the walls relentlessly.

fixed the holes, door marks, sanded, taped off edges,

etc.

Then did 2 coats of Orange Marmalade Paint! Not your typical Garage Color!

I love it. I expect mixed opinions on it but............

Damnit.

If I end up painting my garage this weekend, at Christmas of all days, it's your fault.

A good warm color. Inviting too. Now pressure wash the floor and give it a finish. I like the black tool board. Golf clubs and tools, the perfect combo. I have my clubs in their place of honor in my own shop. Looking good!

The color doesn't matter. It gives it a finished look. Something which very few garages have.

I like the color. A subtle grey epoxy floor with matching wall color flakes would look pretty legit.

Goes great with your stuff.

I never did understand why guys would put up shelving and pegboard over bare naked drywall. People think I am crazy, but if you put on a coat of high quality washable paint, it toughens up the skin of the drywall. Then the drywall gets DRY, and about 5 times as tough and hard.

Very cool.

Looks like $80 well spent! Can't wait to see what you do with another $80. That garage will look like a million dollars:beer:

Great job David, what a huge difference your effort has made. While the color is one I would not likely pick for the garage, now that I see it, I really like it! Well done.

Great colour choice, I would not have picked it, did turn out looking nice. Floor coating with wall colour flecks would tie them together.:)

I really like the color, but I two would not have thought that color choice would work even though my favorite color is Orange! Ok now how do we delete this thread so my wife doesn't see the pics and makes me repaint the garage again!!!:headscrat

You have the VQ35 engine in that FX which is the same one I have in my wife's 2003 Murano. At 135,000 miles I thought the oil pan gasket was weeping on hers too, but it turns out it was the gasket behind the oil filter pad. That little gremlin is also an oil cooler that is attached with the threaded adapter to which the filter spins on. It gets deformed over time and leaks right at the lip of the oil pan. Nissan increased the thickness of that gasket in later years, and the improved version costs about $6 from your dealer. An easy 30 minute fix.

Might be able to find the part number if you want it.

Did you previously own a house in Fairfield, CA by chance? When we bought our house, most of the inside of the house was that same color...a little bright for us :shocking:

thank you for the input. i would love the item number. I may just change it as well when i do the oil filter gasket.

Thanks again for the compliments. We have had the house for less than 1 year and i was getting tired of having a boring plain garage like everyone else around here. I have not seen any cool painted garages here. I have always liked orange, gray, and black-orange was definately the only color i considered-several different shades were considered. My wife was nervous but she really likes it as well :)

It was a christmas present for myself!

cool, nice fx. Mine has had all kinds of electrical issues, bad fuel level sender, cam sensors and now a bad fuel injector. 98k, but we still love it.
