I was at home depot today looking for 1" diameter bolts but they only had 5/8". Is there an online store that sells them at a decent price?

You don't say where you live but I have a metal supply near me that also sells hardware in bulk. They price it by category , like grade 8. You take any bolts, nuts, nylocks, washers, lockwashers of any size out of the bins and throw it into a bag and they weigh it. Blows away Lowes, HD, Fastenal and TSC for price by several times. They are on line. Fazio Steel. Two places in NJ. The do online but I think you are back to bags of one item in pre counted quantities. I think TSC might go to an inch and they are better than HD and they sell in bulk too. Those little bags with 3 screws in them are a rip off and there is always one less than you need.

It's kind of a local thing . Around here we have a place called Alder Parts, regular car parts store but you can walk in and buy up to 1 1/4" bolts. If there is a truck, ag or construction equipment place near you, ask them where they get there fasteners from.

The problem with buying fasteners online is the cost of the shipping !

Albany County Fasteners has FREE SHIPPING on order over $35. Yes, they are US based. Likely they DO ship to Canada, but again, the cost of shipping and taxes, might kill you !

You did not mention length or pitch or grade. For small quantities, ebay is hit or miss but it is worth checking and sometimes the shipping is not too bad or the item already has the cost of the "free shipping" built in. A lot of the stuff is surplus so it can be very reasonable.

Caterpillar dealer has them

I was going to suggest the same thing or local ag dealers. If you have any oil/gas industry near you there will be specialty well supply stores that probably carry this size too.
